Coconut Cottage is situated on a quaint, private, oceanfront property in a local neighborhood in Sandy Bay. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a family vacation, this peaceful, beachfront cottage is for you. Guests will have private access from your cottage gate for snorkeling and kayaking the pristine waters of the Caribbean Sea to enjoy the Mesoamerican Reef, the second largest reef in the world.

The cottage features reversed living accommodations with a queen-sized bed and private full bath downstairs utilizing beautifully appointed local materials and direct access to the walk-out deck to bask in the sunshine or take a dip in the refreshing plunge pool.

Upstairs features a fully equipped, full-size kitchen that invites you to cook and prepare all of your island foods with an unparalleled ocean view and deck with outdoor dining and gas BBQ. With a half bath upstairs, full sized washer and dryer and queen-sized pull-out sleeper, Coconut Cottage allows arrangements for your children or friends to join you in this unique getaway, vacation rental.

The cottage is fully equipped with linens, WiFi, ceiling fans, AC, and Smart TVs.

Rinse-off the salt water in the outside shower and enjoy the shade of the coconut trees and Caribbean breezes while lounging poolside. Adjacent to the plunge-pool is a casita featuring a full sized futon and powder room for additional flexibility with your accommodations.

The property is just 20 minutes from the airport and Coxen Hole and is fully gated with 24/7 security cameras.

The whole property is for the guests exclusive access. Snorkeling equipment and a kayak is provided, as well as a cooler, beach chairs and sand toys.

Coconut Cottage October 2024
The house is nice. It has a brand new full size washer/dryer. The view of the reef is spectacular. We enjoyed the pool. The bedroom downstairs stayed nice and cool with the a/c at night. We appreciated the extra water bottles and the water cooler. The shower was fine and the water pressure was good. The safe under the upstairs sink was inoperable as the key was completely twisted and bent. In order to fully enjoy the island, you will need a rental car. Obviously, we were being watched and our movements followed. I made the mistake of leaving a window unlocked and we were robbed. The neighborhood is not nice. They stole approximately $2000 worth of electronics (iPad, GoPro camera, Bose headphones, earbuds and Soundlink box). They stole my wife’s backpack altogether and went through mine and stole my fleece jacket but they left my backpack. Our passports were in my backpack so we were relieved. The refrigerator door was wide open when we returned home but they didn’t take my beer or rum. They didn’t take my expensive binoculars or my extra cash in a dresser drawer. We will never know how many times they entered the yard and tried to get in while we were away from the house because the “security” cameras do not have recording functionality. Up until this incident, we really enjoyed the island and Coconut Cottage. Now, I don’t think we would ever return.😡

We loved our stay at the Coconut Cottage. The area was quiet and peaceful. Being able to kayak out to the reef and snorkel on our own made it a great experience! The hosts were responsive and took care of any issues that arose in a timely manner.

We enjoyed our stay at the beach front cottage. The place looks just like the pictures. The ocean is great for looking at and you can go on long beach walks. The bed was confortable and we were thankful we had AC. We enjoyed the pool daily. Close to drive to west end and west bay. Kyaks were a nice extra activity. Be sure to have lots of bug spray. Lots of mosquitos and sand flies. We had some little issues but everything was taken care of promptly. Thanks for sharing your home!

Quaint Beach Cottage
We loved our stay at Coconut Cottage and would absolutely stay here again! The location is very quiet (minus some temporary road construction), lots of docks to snorkel off of and a reef that is booming with life, kayaks and pool were great amenities, and the house itself was perfect for a couple. Not too big but plenty of room to cook and relax in. Washer/dryer were really nice too. Most restaurants we went to were in the West End, about a 10 minute drive away, but we were looking for something off-the-beaten path so it worked very well for us. Thank you for the amazing stay!

The check in process was easy and we were able to contact the property manager via WhatsApp. She came to check in, in person the first evening and was lovely to chat to. Unfortunately she didn't know much about the property, kayaks, or beach/reef. It was easy to find the property and the fence provided security during our stay. The house was nice and clean, with plenty of towels and linens. Each floor had several fans and windows that open, plus an A/C unit we used occasionally. The smart TVs were great, and we used our usual streaming services. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had most items we needed (loved having a good blender, we enjoyed many Pina colada). The pool house was not needed during our stay but we rinsed off at the outdoor shower and enjoyed the pool floats we found inside. Unfortunately, there were a few things that disappointed us. The fridge took several days to chill the few beers and ingredients we brought along. There were no ice cube trays so we had to go shopping for trays or cubes. The kitchen faucet had very minimal water pressure which made cleaning up after meals frustrating. We were assured that there was a 5 gallon jug of drinking water at the house ready for us but it was near empty on arrival (luckily we had bought our own before arriving). The pool was quite sandy. The kayaks were not safe to use, as the drainage holes someone added caused us to almost sink. The beach was unfortunately littered and not nice for swimming.

Perfect location
Great house right on the beach. Clean,safe, simple and everything you need. We stayed there for a month and enjoyed the pool and snorkeling right in front. Lots of cats if you are a cat lover!

House is very nice with beautiful views and sunsets. Pool is key as it’s not a great swimming beach but the snorkeling off the reef in the distance is nice. We had a few issues with the house the first few days— no fault of the owner whose local team dropped the ball. Once settled in we had a lovely time

Great stay in Roatan
The cottage was great. Off the beaten path location, nice and quiet. Right on beach, beautiful reef a couple hundred yards offshore. We really enjoyed the pool and the kayaks. Snorkeling was perfect, clear warm water, saw squid, barracuda, puffers, and beautiful shallow reefs. Great scuba operations nearby as well. The location made it easy to drive to both west and east sides of island. Shopping and restaurants not far away. This choice worked really well for us.

Little piece of paradise
Our stay was a well needed relaxing vacation. Beach is steps away from the back gate and we could walk 1.8 miles round trip towards the East. We were able kayak to the reef and snorkel when ever we wanted. We definitely recommend for a stay.

Coconut Cottage is sheer perfection
This house in Sandy Bay really does have it all. It is clean and beautifully decorated. The pool is great. The separate pool house/casita doubles as an additional bedroom with bathroom. The property is fully fenced and gated. It is right on the beach and the sunsets are magical. The reef is a short kayak ride out from the house and the snorkeling is great. No need to book a snorkeling excursion because it's right there in front of you for free. The house is in a local neighborhood which is great if you want to be immersed with the locals and they are very nice indeed. And you are still only a 15 minute drive to West End and West Bay. Lesly the host was especially great.

Spectacular.
A part of me doesn’t want to share how good this is because I always will want it available to me, but fine … it is spectacular! The listing made it an easy choice, great location, on the beach and a pool! But it’s even better. Property managers Lesly and Jeff were excellent, easy to communicate with and very responsive. The place is immaculately clean. Not a hodgepodge vacation rental, the Coconut Cottage has everything you could need, excellent quality, attention to detail, definitely high end everything. We used Lesly’s recommendations for car rental (Omar!), diving (Upachaya is outstanding) and restaurants. We were about 10 minutes to West End with all the great restaurants and about 15 minutes to WestBay, some of the best shore snorkeling we have ever experienced. Located in a quiet neighborhood, there were some dogs, cats and chickens, but once you are inside it’s perfectly quiet. It gets pretty warm in the afternoon so the pool was like paradise. Highly recommended Coconut Cottage and all of Roatan. We will definitely be returning!

Short Stay
We were only there for a few days. This is a great location if you want to be away from the business of west end. I caught a few small fish from the beach. The neighborhood does have many stray dogs and one that was chained up directly across the road. For dog lovers, it can be a little heartbreaking. The VRBO itself is immaculate and we had a great day just walking the beach and laying by the pool
