The host provided detailed instructions on parking and getting the key from the lockbox- couldn’t have been more seamless. "Brenda is a great host, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place is absolutely silent, which is good for the soul. We walked in the fresh snow to the edge of the gorge and it was beautiful. My only disappointment was that the fireplace in the suite is off limits due to some totally legitimate technical issues. Knowing that ahead of time wouldn't have made a difference except that I wouldn't have got my hopes up for a fire next to the bed. Arriving close to sunset while it was snowing meant...

"Overall an enjoyable stay. Our group enjoyed the large kitchen, lounging by the fireplace, and working puzzles on the dining room table. Plenty of space for our group of 8 adults. "I have stayed at the El Pueblo Lodge several times. The complaint I have this time is that the cleaning fluid smell in my room was overpowering. I stayed 3 nights and only by the last night did the smell subside. My fault for not asking for a different room.
