Our stay in this homely french Chateau was wonderful - all 18 of us (from 2 to 55) thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and are keen to return next year.
The Chateau is set back from the road down a long drive, its sits in a large piece of land on the edge of a lake. In its grounds there is a heated swimming pool, trampoline, table tennis table, large wendy house with lots of toys, a shed with bikes that you can borrow to ride round the lake/explore the local area and a sit on top kayak & Canadian canoe to explore the lake. Additionally there are loungers and deck chairs around the pool and plenty of tables and chairs outside to enable everyone to sit down and eat together (as well as a plancha grill outside for barbecuing food). The kitchen has everything you could hope for and more!
Our group took full advantage of the holiday to relax around the pool, visit Nantes, open water swim in the lake, run the 6km around the lake and explore the area on bikes (whether those borrowed from the house for short rides or those brought from home for longer rides (c.60km). We also delved into the fantastic assortment of board games to while away some of the longer afternoons (Blokus was an absolute favourite).
The bedrooms all had great views and the bathrooms offered hot water for showers and soft towels .
If you are thinking of renting a chateau in France i can totally recommend this one; it has a wonderful ambiance and is very homely. It also has fantastic facilities and is large enough that you can escape the masses and easily find peace and quiet.
