"The Sanctuary offered a beautiful, peaceful, and thoroughly enjoyable weekend. The space was clean and very comfortable. The hosts were responsive and very welcoming. We loved sitting by the lake and enjoying the peaceful quiet and beautiful views of the property and mountains. We will definitely be staying here again! "

"Location is a quick walk to downtown. The accommodations were welcoming, cozy, quiet and clean. We enjoyed admiring the antiques and art too. We did not cook in the kitchen but it looked well stocked for cooking too. "

"First, the host Alex, is incredible! Stayed in contact before, right after we checked in to be sure all was good and right after we checked out. GOLD star Alex!! The property was incredible! Nice surprise was the soft water system. Fire pit was very nice as well. Kitchen well appointed and clean. Memory foam mattresses and extremely comfortable. Property secluded and private. All in all…6 stars in my book!!"

"Very cute cabin in small town. Really enjoyed the short distance to the james river where we were able to fish and float. Lots of restaurants and stores near by to get extra supplies we needed. "

Loved seeing the cows walk down to their watering hole and especially enjoyed watching Jasper their horse roam the pasture. We would stay again the next time we are in the area. "

"A couple friends and I went fishing on the upper James and rented the River's Bend cabin. What a fabulous place! The cabin was clean, spacious, and well-appointed with everything we needed for a 3-day getaway. There are beautiful views of the river from the multi-level back deck and the screened in porch overlooking the mountains was a great spot for a nap or evening cocktail. Our host Elizabeth was top notch!! She provided a wealth of information in advance, was very responsive to all of our...

"The house was welcoming. I felt like I was home. Plenty of space. Judy was extremely responsive to all my messages. Even stopped by to check on us. I would definitely stay here again. Honestly one of my best stays ever."

"We were very happy with our stay at the cozy cabin. One thing I would recommend is NOT requiring visitors to report to a location in the town to pick up keys and stay instructions. I think this could be simplified and not have guests frustrated before even making it to the property. Another cabiner said the same about improving the check-in process. Otherwise - peace and tranquility awaits. "

"Overall the hotel was nice and had lots of wonderful historic qualities. The beds were amazing for comfortable sleeping. The only thing that wasn't the best was the food in the tavern it could have been better and it was pricey. Other than that we had a wonderful stay and everyone was very hospitable. I loved the history of the place and the fact that you could walk to the Natural Bridge place from it very convenient! "
