The owner of the apartment is a British man who has lived in Slovenia for 12 years and who runs a cycling company (Simply Cycling Slovenia) offering guided and unguided cycling tours. He has a vast knowledge of the region and can be contacted at any time for help or advice. The apartment is set in one acre of grassland next to the Scavnica river. Located in the north east of Slovenia but only 300 metres from Croatia, 26km from Hungary and 37km from Austria, making it an ideal base from which to explore four countries during your holiday.
There are four thermal spas close by which you can visit as a day guest to either enjoy the thermal waters, or undergo an abundance of wellness or beauty treatments. The region is a paradise for hikers, Nordic walkers & cyclists. In fact bikes are supplied to guests at no extra cost. Marked paths and nature walks are within a few metres of the ‘Stork’ apartment which takes you along the side of the Scavnica river where it meets the larger River Mura. Designated trails meander through the woodlands and oxbows. In these woods you will discover marked healing points or magnetic fields. Within walking distance from the Mill House there are several bars and restaurants, a mini market, a post office and a bank machine. The small town of Ljutomer where you can enjoy a coffee in the town square is 7km away. The Ljutomer-Ormož hills are not only famous for their wines but also for the beauty of the landscape which, according to many, ranks among the most wonderful landscapes in the world. Along the Jeruzalem Wine Road, nature glows with vivid colours in every season, providing the perfect setting for the genuine hospitality of your hosts along the Wine Road and the outstanding quality of the wines produced here.
