"Lots of authentic, historic charm. Our suite in Orchard House was wonderfully roomy. Comfy bed. Housekeeping is iffy - the coffeemaker had not been cleaned from prior occupants. Too bad there is no coffee service at all in the mornings, not even a machine or carafe in the lobby. The "coffee shop" is woefully inadequate and isn't even open most days. I like the place, though, and would stay again. Just have to adjust my expectations."

"This was the highlight of our trip. Such nice people there on staff. We enjoyed wonderful accommodations and conversation. Also saw beautiful deer in the backyard!!! Will certainly stay again!!"

"Easy access, room and bath cleans and all the resource was running well but dec26 the coffee machine at breakfast room was out off order and were not available brown bread and only one fruit , apple. Otherwise it was according as expected."

"Nice clean hotel right in the main area of tiny, little Fort Davis. We got a code emailed the night before to let ourselves in. Places to eat were right next door or across the road. Note that they all close at 8 or 9PM. Super easy drive from the hotel to the state park, national park and observatory. The only downsides were that the floors were especially squeaky. It's a great old building, so it comes with that sort of thing. It just made it impossible to go to the bathroom without waking your...

"We stayed here on our way out from Austin to Balmorhea Springs. We got there late and got graced with one of the starriest skies I've ever seen and spotted more meteors than I'd ever seen! Woke up to a gorgeous mountain view, and was sad to drive off... until I got to the the Springs, of course. Highly recommended! Would love to return."

"This is such a lovely property! So peaceful on the patio in the mornings and evenings. Getting to pet the owner's horses was a bonus, too! Super fast communication for any needs from the host. Split bedrooms make it perfect for couples. Close to the main street in town but still 'away'. Highly recommend for a trip to Ft. Davis!"

"The location was great - very close to the fort and the Main Street area. The home is huge. The pictures on the listing don’t show just how large the space really is. It was great for our family of 6 - four kids ages 10-12. It was so nice having a large kitchen to prepare meals and a laundry room to keep up with the vacation fun. "We loved spending our stay here. It was the perfect size for us for a few days. The exterior space for dark sky viewing was splendid. We truly enjoyed the coziness of the tiny house and trying out the various on- and off-grid services. I thought the bed would be too soft, but it was a dream. We would definitely stay here again. "
