Discovery Passage from Copper Bluffs!

We are situated on Copper Bluffs, Quadra Island overlooking Discovery Passage in British Columbia.
Noted for it's whale watching, just come sit on one of the bluffs and watch the amazing sunsets and view a show the whales often like to provide as we have resident whales!
There are plenty of trails to enjoy, whatever your level; if you're a bird lover, we have several resident Eagles and Falcons that like to sit and watch you from their perch.
Adjoining freshwater lakes are just a 10 minute drive from the property, offering trout fishing, canoeing and kayaking around the little islands. Or is it your dream to go Salmon and Halibut fishing? You have come to the right place!
Rebecca Spit and Cape Mudge are where you want to visit if you enjoy Clam and Oyster picking, as well it offers a lot of native history with rock and tree carvings all over the beach, a 15 minute drive.
Great paddling opportunities await you in ecologically diverse Surge Narrows Marine Park with great portaging, hiking trails and swimming.
We are also located close to Octopus Islands Marine Park and world renowned standing wave "Okisollo"!

Currently we have a loft style cottage which offers sleeping for 4 adults, the loft has a queen and a single bed, living room has a pull out queen sofa couch. It has a full functioning kitchen, full bath with shower, wood fireplace for those cold evenings and a fire bowl on the front deck to enjoy while gazing over the passage views.
We can help host any activity.. just ask!
This reservation has a Flexible cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 30 days prior to the check in date.
A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 30 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 14 to 29 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travellers cancelling less than 14 days prior to check-in. CanadaStays Booking Fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request.
Our house rules: primary renter must be 25 or older, no smoking, no parties or events, no pets.

Cute Weekend Hideaway
We spent a long weekend here on Quadra island and it was great! There were two cats who kept coming to visit and we miss them already. Everything was clean and the house is WELL stocked with toiletries, supplies, anything you'd need to enjoy your stay. The property is located up a 4km gravel road and the neighbors on either side of the property keep to themselves, so it's a great spot for some peace and quiet if you're looking to escape a hectic city for a while! Wonderful views of the sunset and ocean from the cedarwood hot tub, and when it's rainy you can cozy up next to the firepit on the deck, or curl up on the couch with a book or a movie. If you're looking to explore the island, there's tons of trails nearby and it's just a short 10-15 minute drive to some golfing, restaurants/shops, and beaches. Shelley is a great host, very quick to answer any questions we had about trails, where to rent a kayak if you don't have your own (and where it's safe to go, if you're unfamiliar with the area!), and where to get the best locally-sourced seafood. We can't wait to visit again someday!

Amazing house
It's been a while since our visit to Quadra Island, but with such an amazing time we had, it is hard to forget. We arrived in to the house at the sunset and from that moment I feel in love with this place. I will never forget the view from the terrace with the sun hiding in the water. It was spectacular!!! We spent an amazing week there and never wanted to leave. The house itself is amazing too and equipped with everything we needed. Not to forget about the Jacuzzi with the views to die for! Thank you for allowing us to stay in this amazing place.

My partner and I stayed at the Copper Bluffs Cabin for a 4 night New Years Eve getaway. The view of Discovery Passage is beautiful. The cedar hot tub was a treat. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Shelley was a lovely host she was kind and quick to communicate. I highly recommend this lovely place.

Gorgeous view on Quadra Island
We loved this cabin! We spent a lot of our time on the back deck enjoying the view and the warmth of the fire pit. The hot tub was an added bonus that we enjoyed in the cool of the evening. There was sufficient space for my husband, myself and my two teenage sons, but it would be perfect for a couple. We enjoyed exploring Rebecca Spit, and discovering starfish at the beach at Cape Mudge Lighthouse. We even took at beautiful Jeep ride to Surge Narrows. Lots of trails to explore everywhere on the island!!

Beautiful location!
Sunsets in the hot tub or morning coffee on the deck. Hard to figure what we’ll miss more. Shelly was a lovely host, helpful with our change of plans to stay on Quadra. So many beautiful beaches. Very peaceful. About twenty minutes from the ferry and part of the drive was over gravel roads, but well worth the dusty car (roads were quite smooth, don’t need a SUV). We brought an extra inflatable mattress so our two large teens didn’t have to share a bed. Enough space for us all though.

Amazing view
Amazing view, lovely little cabin. Be aware that there is another cabin right in front of this one, so not quite as private as we would have like. Bed is really comfortable, hot tub and propane fire pit were lovely. Kitchen is relatively well equipped, but for the price we would have appreciated proper wine glasses and sharp knives. Also there was no dining table and chairs indoors, as it was too cold to eat outside we ate our meals on the floor around the coffee table. Great communication, Shelley is a perfect host and answered our queries quickly. Overall a wonderful stay in a beautiful part of the world.

Shelley has a beautiful property with incredible views. It is close to exploring all the sites
Shelley went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. She brought toys for our grandson. The little playground was awesome for him.. Shelley's gardens are lovley. The hummingbirds flutter all day. We saw eagles as well. The listing included a twin bed upstairs but it was not there. It all worked out as my daughterr brought a travel crib. There is a cat who lives at the home for those with allergies or concerns. Overall we had a fantastic stay . We enjoyed the islands sights and had a whale watching excursion company from Campbelll River pick us up at Q cove docls for an exceptional day of Orcas and Humpbacks as well as sea lions and seals

Shelley was a super host, very responsive and patient. Entire place very clean and big enough to accommodate 4 adults and a kid. Super view on discovery passage from the deck. Every night you could see passing cruise ships. Stunning sunsets, every evening different colours. Magic place.

Beautiful, quiet get away
Wonderful to sit out on the deck and watch the sunset, listen to birds, crickets, and the occasional frog. Propane fire ring made the cooler nights very comfortable. Great kitchen and BBQ if you don't feel like going out for a meal. Lots to do on the island. Great hiking, climbing, kayaking, and scuba diving here. Hard to beat.
