Summary:
Escape to Sunset Beach House, a 6-bedroom, 3-bath retreat with 9 beds, offering serene views of Upper Scott Lake from the private backyard beach or through the great room’s expansive picture windows. Accommodating up to 14, this ranch-style home includes a full kitchen, spacious dining area, and cozy lounge spaces, along with a screened porch and a deck with a dining set under a pergola. Enjoy the private fire pit, dock, beach, and canoe for endless relaxation and lake fun. Centrally located just 2.5 hours from Chicago and 3 hours from Detroit.

The Space:
This beautifully renovated, ranch-style cottage is perfect for families or friends, all in a peaceful lake and country setting with no stairs inside. The great room offers plenty of dining and entertainment, with island seating for 2, a large table for 12, and a cozy table for games or crafts. Relax on leather sofas to watch satellite TV or DVDs on the 55” HD screen. The fully equipped kitchen includes a mini-fridge just for kids’ snacks and drinks. Bedrooms are decorated for a cozy, inviting stay. Enjoy the screened porch for relaxing or play, and the lake-facing deck for al fresco dining with a gas grill. Gather around the fire pit for sunset views or relax in Adirondack chairs by the beach. Fish from our private dock or explore the lake by canoe for the perfect retreat.

Guest Access:
You will have access to the entire property, including the canoe onsite. Guests have the flexibility to gain convenient access to our home via the keypad entry system any time after the designated check-in time on their scheduled arrival date.

The Neighborhood:
Sunset Beach House is just one of our getaways here in Michigan! In spring, enjoy the vibrant blooms and greenery. Summer brings fun on the water—boating, swimming, and soaking up the sun. Fall allows for scenic walks through the nearby Allegan State Game Area or our own hiking paths in the area. And of course, winter offers skiing, snowmobiling, ice skating, and snow-filled fun.
We’re 10-15 minutes from Crane’s Orchards and Dutch Farms - amazing pies and fruit picking. Fenn Valley Winery offers tastings and tours. Antique lovers, the area has a treasure trove of stores in South Haven, Allegan, Douglas, and Saugatuck. Summer brings dune rides, South Haven & Saugatuck's beautiful beaches, biking trails, and fruit galore: cherries, blueberries, raspberries, and peaches.
Note: We aim to maintain a peaceful environment for all our guests and neighbors. Large, disruptive parties are not allowed.

Getting Around:
To explore all the amazing spots in Southwest Michigan, you’ll definitely need a car! We are conveniently located to coastal towns—just 15 minutes from downtown South Haven, 20 minutes from Saugatuck, and 25 minutes from Holland.
Please note: We currently don’t offer electric vehicle (EV) charging on-site. Attempting to charge an EV here damages our electrical system, any violations will incur a $400.00 fee plus any repair costs. Thank you for helping us keep things running smoothly!

Other Things to Note:
Wi-Fi internet is provided by AT&T, but they only offer limited speeds best suited to web browsing & checking email. More than a few connected devices at a time will cause lag. We provide satellite TV & DVD players for all our homes since video streaming is not an option.
Loud parties with excessive alcohol/drug use are not allowed. All drinking games are prohibited. Township-mandated quiet hours are from 10 PM-8 AM daily. We ask that nothing be stuck to our walls since this will damage the paint. You may not use tinsel, glitter, confetti, feathers, etc. during your stay since these leave a mess that is hard & time-consuming for our small staff to clean up.
No EV charging, smoking, fireworks, vaping, marijuana use, or pets/animals. No exceptions.
Note: Docks, Watercraft & Outdoor Dining Furniture Are Not Available Oct 25-Apr 15. This home closes for the winter after New Year's Eve until April 1.

Girls Bookclub Weekend
We spent the weekend Fri-Sun. We were very lucky to have the most perfect weather. The view was terrific. We found things to do but if we hadn't left the house it would have been great too. House was great! We did have a lot of ladybug friends but this is the season and they didn't bother us. I appreciated the full stocked kitchen supplies but what is always nice was that there were spices and those kinds of things. It was easy access to wineries and the surrounding towns. Recommend!

Labor Day getaway
Our group of 6 adults and 6 kids enjoyed staying here. The house fit all our needs. The xanoe was enjoyed on the lake. We visited South Haven, Holland, & Silver Lake while here.

Pullman Cottage
This lake house exceeded our expectations. Perfect place for our family to enjoy time together in the open kitchen and living space. Nice deck, yard and fire pit. The lake was very clean and shallow enough for kids to play. The house is equipped with everything you might need during your stay. It was nice to have enough bedrooms and bathrooms for our family of 6 adults and 3 children. There was good communication with owner and property manager. We hope to return.

Peaceful getaway
We loved staying here! The house is perfectly set up for myself and my family, my brother and his, and my sister and hers. We had 7 adults and 6 kids very comfortably situated. The only thing i could ask for the house didnt have wasa game room or second living room. The lake was very peaceful and you dint have to worry about thenyounger kids going to deep as the lake is very sandy and shallow. Caught many sunfish and largemouth bass off the dock and canoe. Watch out for the swans and geese! Having the small fence to roll out came in handy. Thanks for a great stay!

Family Vacation 2024
Had a great week with the family. The house was great and was well stocked. The fence used to keep the geese out of the yard was a bit odd and annoying to have to take down to access the dock/lake. It was nice to have the kayak but it would have been nice to have a pontoon available. It was also a bit weird to have strangers wandering the yard every day scooping poop. Especially the guy who was complaining constantly while doing it as we sat on the front porch trying to read. Overall, the trip was great and the house was nice.

Family girls Weekend
Plenty of space. Loved how the bedrooms were down one hallway. The kitchen and living room all one open space. We had plenty of room to craft and play games in the long table. Everything in one floor. Plenty of bathrooms for 14 women. Totally ideal. Beautiful colors on the trees. Perfect weekend. Awesome Hosts.

Fall 2023 Friend-sips Wellness Retreat
My group had a great time. Everything was clean and comfortable. It rained the entire time that we were there. However, we were able to capture the most beautiful rainbows and Swan passings ever. The check in process was easy, The kitchen provided everything we needed, and the spaciousness allowed everyone to feel at home. We appreciated the written instuctions on how to use various equipment. One of the best homes we've visited. It's a hidden gem.

Beautiful Lakefront Property, very peaceful
This property was perfect for our annual Cousin gathering. We made wonderful memories at this house. All bedrooms were very comfortable and spotless. The house had everything we could possibly need or want. Close to many different coastal towns for day trips. The property's staff and local contact were great in answering any of our questions.

House was fine lots of space, but we had a couple of things that we’d like you to look at: The water pressure in the kitchen sink is very very low. Everywhere else is fine, but that seems to be unusually low. In the first bedroom on the left, going from the living room to the driveway, there is a musty smell that is pretty prevalent in that room. We tried using a fan, but that really didn’t help much in the second bedroom on the right from the living room to the driveway there is a Hanger on the wall but it’s not very secure. We hung a bathrobe on it and it immediately fell off. The nails are still there but you might wanna look at that. The outside lights on the side of the house by the grill and the outside lights that shine into the parking area have burned out need to be replaced With found the house very comfortable, and even though it took us a little bit to get used to the acoustics because of the lack of carpeting’s or lack of window dressings, we loved it there, and it was very accommodating

Summer home away from home
The property was immaculately clean. It gave us the room that we needed to accommodate our family members, and it was well stocked with many of the things that we needed to make our stay memorable. The lake was clean and easily accessible, roughly 30 yards from the back door. The water was deep enough for the kids to jump off the dock, but shallow enough that the youngest ones could wade safely . And the lake is well stocked with fish and our son-in-law caught a huge largemouth bass. The air condition was a true blessing, the beds were comfortable, and the conveniences, such as a dishwasher, TVs and Wi-Fi, a refrigerator, and a smaller refrigerator, a washer and dryer, a canoe, and lifejackets, were all just a few examples of the many thoughtful touches that made this property an outstanding choice. Above all, the property owner and manager were super friendly, and they worked to accommodate our needs. This is a great property, and we had a marvelous time staying here. We would definitely recommend it as a family – friendly, summer home away from home!

Family and Friends Retreat
4 families with multiple children stayed and played at the Sunset Beach house. Plenty of rooms to house everyone comfortably and space to spread out. Kitchens and bathrooms really well stocked, best we’ve seen at any other rental we have been at before. We cooked and grilled multiple meals. Stove had a bit trouble keeping up with maintaining heat with multiple burners running at the same time but, everything eventually got cooked. Beach was a great soft sand and shallow for the kids to play at safely. Had a wonderful time and would recommend for your next vacation.

Great, clean, roomy cottage!
We LOVED the cottage-very clean and well maintained. It had 3 good bathrooms, including an en suite in the main bedroom. Walk in shower. Very accessible for walkers, limited mobility. The tables had plenty of chairs for a large group, both inside and outside. There was an extra table for games/puzzles-which we loved. Nice yard for the kids, sandy small beach. Plenty of plates/glasses. Large open living plan. Brewery right next door. Lake is weedy and shallow, good swimming for kids at the shore. They work hard to clear the weeds daily. Geese and swans, other waterfowl-fun to watch. Rented kayaks-that is worth the $$. Fun fireworks on the pond for the 4th at other cottages all around. Nice fire pit with plenty of chairs. Brand new grill! We had a GREAT stay!

Celebrating grandpa's 85th!
Had a great stay here! Fall colors were amazing, saw a variety of wildlife. So relaxing and plenty of room for our group of 11. Bedrooms were comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed. Large table was perfect.

sisters retreat

Beautiful Sunset Beach House
This is a wonderful place to stay. The house was very clean with a beautiful view of the lake. Close to South Haven and Saugatuck for shopping and activities. Having all the bedrooms on the main floor was quite convevient. We had trouble turning the TV on but after calling our local house manager, Jill, she drove right over and showed us how to fix this. Our host, Elizabeth, was most helpful. She was informative, friendly and made the entire reservation process so convenient.
