"I was very pleasantly surprised by how nice the cottage was, and how well set up it was for having pets. We are driving from Toronto to Calgary and have brought our two beagles and cat with us. After driving through some serious snowstorms, we were welcomed by the friendly front desk staff, and given our cottage key and firelog (!) "We had a great time on Lake Superior. We got a glimpse of the northern lights the first night and then a snow squall came and clouded it over the rest of the time. The roads were kept clear within a reasonable time frame and we didn't have 4x4. The owner was responsive and great to work with. Our kids loved the games and toys that were provided!"

"I booked the house to visit family in the area. It was a great choice for my adult children to be able to stay with us all in one place. The location was great for where I needed to be. "A beautiful red sandstone building. Second floor accommodations in the warden’s residence were more spacious than expected. Kitchen included all the necessities. Very clean and comfortable. The central location was minutes away from the train station for the Agawa Canyon tour and the waterfront and canal district. Host responded quickly to enquiries. We would recommend the warden’s residence for Sault visitors. "

"My mom and I stayed during our visit to Sault Ste. Marie for my daughter’s wedding. The house was a perfect place to come, and relax after some wedding prep. We used the kitchen to prep some goodies for the reception, and there was plenty of room. Everything was in great, working order! We did contact Althea since we had a little trouble signing on to the WiFi, but she was quick to respond. As stated in other reviews, the street was busy, but not horrible. "Everything was as it should be- sort of.. This place sleeps up to 8 but only 2 can sit to together for meals....The NEST thermostat was problematic, never allowing cool nights for sleep. The location is ideal for accessing HWY17 north out of town and close to retail chains and restaurants."
