"Notre hôte a été très sympathique pour que nous puissions rester dans notre chambre jusqu’à 17 heure car notre ferry avait du retard. Nous avons pu communiquer facilement avec lui. "

"Fantastisk bra hotell rett på stranden. Hyggelig og rolig stemning på hotellet, virkelig et sted å slappe av. Maten var særdeles god, spesielt en Italiensk restaurant. Gode lydisolerte rolige rom, med meget gode senger. Vi reiser 4 til 5 ganger i året, dette er et av de beste hotell vi har opplevd i Hellas. Vi vil helt klart bo her neste gang vi kommer til Skiathos. "

"Friendliest welcome ever from Anna , Alexandra and Chris. They made us feel so welcome and always so helpful. Thank you. Hotel is within walking distance to town , restaurants and bus station . Very clean and breakfast great variety. Definitely recommend this hotel . "

"We had a great room with a sea view in the Rock. It is at the quiet end of the port area with a lovely local bakery walkable. No amenities in the building as it’s like a nice apartment block but everything we needed in our room and very tasteful decor. "

"The 2 bedroom apartment we booked was quite spacious but sparsely decorated. The best thing of the accommodation was the lovely balcony and the view over towards the airport runway. The apartment itself had no cooker, toaster, coffee maker and very little cutlery and kitchenware. It also has a lot of steps up the front which is not well documented in the write up. Not at all good for even slightly less able people. "

"We booked this property for end of September 2024 based on the reviews we read and we liked the look of the pool area. We was not disappointed. The staff were excellent and every request was met with a speedy response and the hotel was very clean. The pool was great with stunning views. However, to have these views you have to be prepared to climb some hills. Yes it was hard work but well worth the effort as the view is simply beautiful. "Cute village. Swimming pool area is cute and relaxing. Bus stop is nearby. the Village is on the hill so has good view but need to walk up all the way and many stairs. in the case ur knee is not strong, check the room location in advance with to hotel. During the stay, hot water was not stable nor controllable so I and my friend both got scald bc very hot water comes out all of sudden almost every 2mins. It was repeating. "

"Great location! The property was clean, basic rooms but cleaned daily and towels and sheets changed regularly. Air con was a bonus. Pool area great for Skiathos town. Only downside for me was the bathroom a bit dark and could do with a revamp…shower screen instead of curtain. But wouldn’t put me off going back for sure! "

"Great one night stay at Hotel Mato. Traditional old Greek house where the lady owner was so helpful and friendly. We had a room at the top of the house (up a spiral staircase) which had a spacious balcony with amazing views of the port. Lovely traditional Greek breakfast. The location is fantastic for Skiathos old town and the ferry port. Would recommend (as long as you like cats - she has tons them! ) "

I do not recommend

"Horrible experience, I don't recommend it. Hotel with zero accessibility and does not offer help with luggage. I booked a room with a king bed and we were placed in a room with two single beds. There's no point in complaining that they didn't solve it, they said it was just a matter of putting the beds together. Weak breakfast and restaurant with non-Chinese food. I placed an order at the restaurant and there was no specific accompaniment and they exchanged it for another without consulting me and even charged an extra difference. My wife had a massage at the hotel and I was forced to go to reception to pay, all the services you put on the room bill to pay at checkout and the massage was not. They say there is a beach structure with transport, but when I asked, they told me to walk and it was only 10 minutes away. And when I get there I can't get a table, since they have to be paid for and have to be reserved with plenty of time on the app, being open to the public so they are hardly available. And finally, I booked a transfer to the airport and at the time I didn't have a car and they explained that I was 10 minutes late, even though there was no warning. I had to order a taxi and almost missed my flight. Worst experience."
