"We rent a place on Lake Murray every 4th of July. I have to say this is the worse experience we’ve ever had. The kitchen is infested with ants. Ants were all over the counter and got in all our chips and boxes of cereal. There were also ants in the twin size bed downstairs, both showers, and the bathroom vanities. The refrigerator did not work. When we woke up the first morning all our food was warm. We had to get coolers and ice to keep our food cold. The ice maker doesn’t work either. We left...

"My family and I had a wonderful 5 days at this property. There were plenty of comfortable bedrooms to accommodate our whole group with room to spare. Very pleased with the amount of bath towels and beach towels provided along with the many toys for the lake. Our host was very accommodating and we all appreciated that. If we are ever back in the area again, we will certainly book again!"

"Annual trip to a dynamic college football scene. Gamecocks rated as one of the top tailgates in the country. Three guys stayed at the Turquoise Door in Lexington and it was perfect for our needs and access to Columbia. Would totally recommend this property to anyone for pretty much any VRBO need! "

The views are exceptional and there are many areas where you can spend time outside looking at the lake - a screened porch, open porch with rockers, lower deck, firepit and gazebo. The host was very responsive and the check in was super easy. If you're looking to relax and spend a quiet weekend on the lake, this is a wonderful option."

"The Quack Shack is located at a very peaceful part of Lake Murray. We had our own Kayaks and kayaking was great. Our Sheltie loved the fenced in yard and we had a nice visit with the neighbors. Every kind of need was available if we needed it. Great location, great relaxing stay."

The property listing isn’t intentionally misleading but there things you don’t see in the description and pictures. It is a lake house and has an old lake house feel. "We had 4 families that had kiddos playing in an All State Baseball tournament form NC. We wanted something that we could all enjoy together while. It being at the fields. Perfect place to hang out and let the kids hang. Even though it was freezing they all jumped in the pool. We loved the history and lived in feel art this home. "

"The house met all of my expectations. Location was outstanding and he you were easily able to dock a pontoon boat. The pool and lake were outstanding. Beautiful house and would highly recommend for anybody looking to rent out a large lake house. The recreation room was amazing and kept us very entertained at night."

The setting of the house is even better than advertised, as it sits within its own small cove where the water is much calmer than the main channel. Everyone enjoyed swimming off the dock without any concern about passing boats. The house itself was clean and roomy. On the first day of our stay, we had a few reasons to contact the owners, who provided quick responses. We are happy to recommend this home to others."
