Les Galets is a charming renovated south facing cottage situated in a quiet corner of Pleslin off the main road in a group of stone houses and barns and just 4km from the Rance estuary in Plouer and in the heart of the touristic region Côte d'Emeraude. It has recently been renovated to a high standard to be a romantic charming and cosy retreat both in the summer and winter. It has preserved some of its old character features like beams tastefully incorporated with more contemporary features, restored furniture sourced from the UK adds to the charm. There is solid oak flooring throughout from the local Pleslin saw mill. The ground floor attractively combines kitchen/dining/living and includes everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a feature fireplace with wood burner and also Electric wall heating. TV is via the French orange internet service. WiFi is free and of excellent quality. The backdoor leads out to a newly created enclosed back garden area with terrace decking, garden table and chairs, beyond the fencing is a larger grass area and orchard in common with next door holiday cottage Les Embruns.1st floor has a spacious south facing landing area with small table and chair for laptop working if necessary. There is a south facing double bedroom with 2 standard single beds, clothes storage and Electric wall heater. The WC is separate from the bathroom which has both full size bath, walk in shower, basin space with shelving storage and heated towel rail. Further stairs lead up to the 2nd floor master bedroom under the eaves and original beams. This space is a very large romantic and characterful with a king size (160cm) bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers, table, 2 chairs, dressing table with stool, clothes hanging rail and French antique child bed. (Spare futon mattress available under this bed) Also nearby is Tremereuc (9 hole) golf course and Dinard/Saint Briac 18 hole seaside golf course. Sailing clubs, stables. Voie verte cycle/hike/bridleway, this is the transformed defunct railway track from Dinard to Dinan (23km) which closed in the 80’s and can be accessed within 4/5 minutes walk of the cottage. The commune of Pleslin has a bakery, resto/pizzeria La Lanterne, minimart grocery store, pharmacy, cultural centre, town hall and post office. It is well known for its megalithic standing stones Druid burial site. Coastal sea boat excursions are available by compagnie Corsaire and I highly recommend taking the sea bus from Dinard to Saint Malo when planning to visit. Aquarium : Saint Malo. Zoo : La Bourbansais at Pleugeuneuc between St Malo and Rennes. Water park ‘AquaMalo’ at St Joan des Guérets. Restaurants and crêperies in abundance in even smaller towns especially on the coast (Pleslin has a Pizzeria La Lanterne)
