"Family of 5 with 3 college age kids. This property was just as advertised. It is clean and simple but nice. Property has 2studio apartments and a rooftop terrace. No hammocks as in pics. The 3 kids took the downstairs floor with two beds and my husband and I took the second floor. No air conditioning but not needed with the ceiling fans and screened windows opened. "Its great property for family vacation. 3 big rooms and big kitchen with a view of the arenal volcano. The property is gated and enclosed and felt very safe. The host was very communicative and friendly. Highly recommend"

The town of El Castillo is, in my opinion a much better choice than La Fortuna. There's almost no traffic, its unique, gorgeous and you get that authentic local feel because there's seemingly few other tourists there. There are no souvenir shops or shops to browse but there are several places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and theres great coffee, views...

"This 2 story rental villa has a great view of Volcan Arenal from the second story. It overlooks a farm with elephant grass used for grazing animals. The location is about 2 km south of the center of La Fortuna, so a car is necessary. It is close to several of the tour outfitters that do canyoneering and rafting. It is initially hard to see on your first visit (look for the Sapiens sign on Ruta 702) because the group of 3 houses are set 70 meters south of the road and accessed via a thin 1 lane...

"This beautiful unique house is in a wonderful country setting. I had my morning coffee on the gazebo while a horse watched me. The area restaurants were very good and either walkable or a short drive. We also enjoyed water activities on the nearby lake."

The check in and check out process was a breeze. We absolutely loved waking up to the amazing view of the volcano. Good restaurants and coffee shop within walking distance. So glad we picked this place for our first visit to Costa Rica. "
