Newly Remodeled A-Frame Cabin in the Pines

Plan your next relaxing getaway in the cool pines of Strawberry, Arizona. This newly remodeled cabin includes 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the main floor and a spacious loft upstairs. The master bedroom features a king-sized bed and private bathroom with shower. The guest bedroom features a queen-sized bed and bathroom with shower across the hall. The spacious loft has two full beds and a futon with full-sized mattress as well as an area for kids to play with a selection of toys. The family room features a 50" Smart TV, leather sectional and leather recliner. You will also find board games and puzzles in the entryway cabinet. The dining table seats seven with views of TV and front yard. A convertible high chair/booster seat and Pack N Play are also provided. Kitchen is stocked with basic appliances and necessities for cooking and dining. The property has ample parking space. There is a swing set, picnic table, and hammock in the front yard. The large, covered porch is a great place to relax in the swing or chairs and watch the elk and squirrels. The back yard includes a small covered patio, BBQ grill, a seating area with gas fire pit.

Location is just minutes from restaurants in Strawberry and a couple miles from Downtown Pine, which includes antique and specialty shopping, restaurants, grocery store, and more. Great hiking and biking nearby includes attractions like Tonto Natural Bridge, Fossil Springs/Creek, Washington Park, and more.

A $200 refundable damage deposit is applied to your Home Away account. Over 6 guests add $15.00 per night per additional guest.

The cabin was spacious and the loft was a great sleeping option for teens. The furnishings were up to date. The overall maintenance of the property was lacking. There was an awful odor when we first walked in coming from the kitchen sink. It got better the more we used the sink and ran water. This should really be corrected. The house has been remodeled at some point but is showing a bit of wear and tear. The towels need to be upgraded, and I have never stayed anywhere that had laundering sheets in the check out instructions. Isn’t that why I paid a cleaning fee? The outdoor gas fire pit was great and the neighborhood was quiet. The location is close to hiking trails which was nice.

A weekend out of The Valley
My husband and two of our friends went to Strawberry for the outdoor activities and relaxing. The home was perfect for us. It was great to see the elk each morning and afternoon. The rental was affordable and close to activities we wanted to do. We would rent again.

The only negative was what was needed to watch your favorite TV programs. You had to upload your own apps to the TV to be able to watch TV. This needs to be clear prior to booking this property, otherwise all Good!

In town for a wedding.
Past rental reviews are deceiving and not what I had experienced at this 2 night stay. This cabin needs some updating on their top amenities. First, the last person to exit the cabin didn't change the code on the lock box. The AC did not cool the front of the cabin or the loft. AC was turned down to 72 but kept resetting back at 78.The ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom nearest to the kitchen were too loud to use and looked like they were going to fall from the ceiling. No hangers or dresser to unpack for your stay. One TV in the living room that did not work. We had to remove the batteries from the fan remote and replace to tv remote. Reception was really bad lost connection to TV and wifi several times. The porch and backyard were very dirty and not kept up. High weeds out front , the porch swing and chairs were covered in dirt and leaves. The backyard looked like it hasn't been maintained in several months. The weeds over grown, grill and fire pit not useable, covered in webs and dirt and no propane tank. Lastly, the check out instructions to wash and dry a load of bed sheets was ridiculous for a guest to do. I was really looking forward to hanging on the porch but the view was not attractive, neighbors too had over grown weeds and only porch light was filled with dead insects. I find it hard to believe the owners come visit frequently as it needs a lot of clean up work outside. So much potential this blue A frame cabin but not maintained with pride.

Family getaway
This is the first time in years me, my sister, my daughter and son-in-law and my two grandkids have been able to get together for a weekend getaway. The cabin was easy to find, clean, and beyond our expectations! We had a most wonderful weekend and very definitely will plan on returning. We will also highly recommend this property to others looking for a getaway. Thank you so much! 😃

This A-frame cabin was roomy and open. Loved all the beds and having 2 bathrooms. All the necessities were available to use with even some condiments in the fridge. Would definitely stay here again.

Roomy comfortable family cabin
Cute A-frame cabin, very family and kid friendly amenities. Nice functional kitchen, comfortable couch and porch swing. Neighborhood was a bit noisy a times, thought this location was more spacious from others, but quiet at night to sleep. One of the nicer cabins we have stayed in and we would consider it again in the future. Great host communications. Thank you for a fun getaway!

Our Experience...
Great location! Easy Check in process. You saw wildlife in the area which was amazing! One of the pillow cases was dirty, and so was the master shower. It is asked that you wash and dry a load of sheets before you leave, but when we went to dry the sheets there was a load of towels left in the dryer. So a couple inconveniences.

Honest review
It was a nice cabin I just wish it would’ve been cleaner it smelled bad I had to buy air fresheners because it wasn’t pleasant. One of the rules to check out is to do a load of laundry I didn’t like that either we are on vacation nobody wants to do laundry while on vacation. The check in and check out was very easy the owners super nice and they reply fast if I had any questions.

Relaxing, comfortable cabin!
Property is rustic like a cabin should be. It is amazingly spacious for a small cabin. Everything needed is in the cabin. Just bring your food! Have stayed here twice and both times the elk are amazing! Elk roam around all day and allow picture taking. Love the hiking and small community of various shops. We hiked everywhere and shopped at every little shop. We will make this an annual stay!

Elk House
The indoors were adequate. The ceiling fan in br 2 was too loud to be used. One of the drawers in the island would not stay closed. The kitchen sink had some ugly brown material coming from the faucet. The exterior was in dire need of a thorough cleaning as there were many cobwebs visible from any seating point. The paver seating area in the back needs to be leveled. The chairs were not sitting level. One of the chairs was broken and needs to be replaced. The landscaping looks neglected. We were coming up to escape the heat and counted on spending plenty of time outside but the condition lessened the enjoyment. The house was located conveniently and worked well from that standpoint. It just needs a bunch of TLC.

Weekend Escape
Perfect place for a weekend escape to the cooler weather in the mountains. We sat on the front porch and watched the Elk roam through and graze each morning. Close to numerous hiking trails and all the great places in Strawberry or Pine. Highly recommend the Elk Lodge!
