"This hotel is and was clean. I booked a king room and when I got to my room it was a twin queen. I had to lug all my gear ( I was on my motorcycle) back to the front desk. To see what was was going on. I showed the person working my confirmation email showing a King room and the cost. I was assured that my cost would not go up because I was getting moved to a king room and again I showed him the price on my email and said that it better not go up. "Pelican Lake Motel was fantastic. The outside look is deceiving. Yes, it's an old building. I loved it as soon as I saw it. The room was splendid. Everything inside is brand new. It was clean and fresh. The windows were open and we could smell the lake air (iykyk). We talked to the owner who told us the building and bar were purchased in December '23. "Was so impressed with hosts James and Penny and their property along Otter Lake. Great location, as Boone and I enjoyed a nice hike at Hartman's Creek State Park, fishing on three different lakes, nightly fires, and Harvestfest at Kings, Wis just around the corner. Will book again. Thank you!"

"The house was loaded with lady bugs, and more importantly mice. The pull out couch, the futon, and drawers/cabinets were littered with mice poop. Which left 2 beds unusable...Additionally, the lawn/home outside was poorly groomed with chopped up bottles and long grass clippings left… which was disappointing since we wanted to enjoy the yard.
