The Laughing Place is a Pawleys Island home on the South Carolina coast at the South End of Pawleys Island. A place where smiles and laughter are served and where the tide washes away all cares. Like Brer Rabbit said 'Everybody's got a laughing place where they can go ...' and this is in the heart of one of the best area islands on the South Carolina Coast. We hope you will enjoy it as your 'Laughing Place', too! The best of Pawleys, Oceanfront AND Creekside: Two-Story home with one deck and two screened porches. Laughing’ Place features three separate living areas so large groups of people have space for privacy as well. The ocean is just outside the door. Sit under the house in the shade or pull your chairs on out to sun on the beach. This home features great spaces for off season rentals where guests can work remote. Great home for fishing and close to golfing as well. Each portion of this house has a great view of the Ocean and/or the creek. New Decor and updates for 2024 include, updated/painted kitchen, painted ceilings on main level, improved indoor and outdoor furniture, new windows and sliders, additional USB stations for added convenience and so much more. Lift is not available for guest use.

**THIS RENTAL IS FOR THE WHOLE HOUSE**

The Main floor has living and dining room combination, kitchen, 4 bedrooms, and 2 baths. A wet bar with a refrigerator and ice maker is great for morning coffee, and other beverages. It also features a Keurig and drip coffee maker
Sleeping accommodations include 2 rooms with queen beds, a room with 2 twins and a set of bunk beds and a room with 2 twins and a trundle bed. Each queen room shares a bath with a room with twin beds.
Across the stairwell on same level is a 1 bedroom suite with a queen bed and full bathw/ step in shower, separate living area with a sleeper sofa, wet bar, refrigerator and ice maker.

INCLUDED IN THIS RENTAL IS THE UPSTAIRS APARTMENT. This is a stand alone area with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. The living area includes an efficiency kitchen with full size refrigerator, 2 burner ceramic cooktop, convection oven, microwave, Keurig and a coffee pot. Bedding features are 1 queen size bed, 1 full bed and a sleeper sofa. The bath has a large garden tub.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO RENT THE MAIN FLOOR PLEASE MAKE REQUEST THROUGH VRBO. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JUST THE 2 BEDROOM APARTMENT CHECK OUT VRBO. THERE IS ALSO A ONE BEDROOM UNIT THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE, BUT IS PERFECT FOR REMOTE WORK/TRAVEL.

We have added a covered dock on the creek with a floating section that is sure to be a favorite spot for all. Be sure to climb all the way up the stairs to the top of the house for a breathe-taking view from the deck on the roof. The unique layout offers as much or as little of the Laughing Place as you need.

Enjoyed the property.
Enjoyed the property. The location was very convenient to the golf courses we played. I don’t like that the only way you choose to communicate is through email. I want to have verbal communication when dealing with this type of transaction. It’s very annoying when I have to wait hours or days for an answer to a question when it should just take a moment

We love Pawleys!
Another great family trip to Pawleys Island, we rented laughing place because of prior rentals many years ago. The property is still the same great place just needs a few updates we had a few electrical issues during our stay. The management company was very responsive. We had a blast!

Lovely place for a beach vacation
Overall, we loved the house and the location and would consider returning in the future. The beach is beautiful and the covered creed-side dock is perfect for fishing or just hanging out. The interior of the house is somewhat dated, but that is not unexpected at Pawleys Island. The house is essentially 3 distinct apartments, and that configuration for us was ideal as we enjoy being together but also appreciate having the option of private space. Our main issue was that the property was under construction while we were there. When we initially arrived, the crows nest was closed due to structural issues, though within 3 days the issue had been remediated and we were able to go up there (though there were still nails and other debris). Also, the house was in the middle of being painted and the painters (though exceptionally friendly and courteous) were onsite by 7 am each morning and actively walking around on the stairs and porch areas. None of these things were show stoppers for us, though since we had other options, we would have appreciated a heads-up from the management office before we booked the vacation.

Perfect retreat!

Lots of Space, Great Location
Great location on the south end of island. Loved that we could walk to the point. Main house and two apartments meant there was space to spread out and that there were plenty of nooks for reading, napping, etc. Roof deck is so nice. Owner responded quickly during our stay.

Love this home
This is our 6th year at the Laughin' Place and we will continue to rent it as long as possible. We have 4 families and there is so much room to either be all together or little spaces if you want some quiet alone time. The upgrades are great and we enjoyed the coffee/wet bar and extra ice machine. Only wish the dock were completed, I understand that is in the works, but since so many docks were damaged in the storm, it is hard to find a good contractor. We love Laughin' Place and literally count down the days until we return.

Another great year!
We loved our week at Laughin Place on Pawleys Island. Laughin Place is the perfect place for our extended "family." The addition of the farm table and benches and the beverage bar were wonderful. Any concerns that we have had have been handled promptly. We look forward to returning again!

The best of my wedding weekend, was spent here
We picked this house out because of the name "Laugin Place". Then we saw the rooftop deck, and considered it a bonus. We had family and friends from as far north as Conn and south Florida. We were not disappointed. The memories that were made in this beautiful, family friendly home stood true to the name. The house was clean, comfy and spacious. The separate suites gave us the privacy we needed. The views were spectacular. Clean linens and spacious family areas were another bonus. Now we are planning a week next year, to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, with the same family and friends joining us. Thank you Ray Jean for the use of our beautiful home.

At high tide, it's like being on a cruise ship
We've visited Laughin' Place many times and it's a great place for a Pawleys family vacation. There's plenty of room, but the two separate apartments give some privacy for those times when the kids get too noisy. Unlike Pawleys homes in the middle and north of the island, which are often well back from the beach, Laughin' place is right on the water. At high tide, you can look directly down from the deck into the ocean, which makes it as if you're on a cruise ship. Highly recommended!

Great week at the Beach!
Our family had a great time being close to the ocean. Even a couple of days of cool raining weather brought us the excitement of surf at high tide. We brought Kayaks to explore the creek and fished from the dock. Walking on the beached at low tide was a favorite especially at the south end of the island. The roof deck is a great place to watch sun rise or sunset especially on the evening of a full moon. On arrival, we found the house to be clean, all beds prepared as advertised. The kitchen was modest but very well equipped. Although we had no issues, it was re-assuring than the owner had given us several phone numbers of service folks who could help us if needed. Our family of 10-13 depending on day had no problem adapting to the bedroom lay out. Larger families may find the limited bath rooms(4) to be a challenge. Having vacationed in the Garden City area for over 35 years, we found Laughin Place to be very convenient to grocery stores, restaurants and other services. If you are looking for a place for your family to enjoy the beach and the natural beauty of Coastal South Carolina, this is the place.

You will feel like you are on a cruise ship! As the tide rises and goes under the house- you are surely OCEANFRONT! And the marsh on the other side of the house is awesome for fishing or crabbing. Can't go wrong with this house- sleeps 20- two separate suites-lots of decks and porches- even two screened in areas. Lots of kitchen stuff too! Don't think twice. Owners are awesome. Can't go wrong with this rental!

Laughin Place was perfect for our multi-generational family
We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Laughin Place. It had ample room for our family and we could gather together in the main living area with comfort and ease. If grandmom wanted to retire for the evening, she had her own suite to go to. The kids had everything they could have asked for too. The house is located so close to the beach, there is no need for a bag drag to set up the umbrellas; in fact, underneath the deck provided ample shade right next to the beach for us so that we never used our umbrellas. We crabbed, fished, kayaked, rode bikes, and relaxed. Loved the Kuerig coffee makers in both the main area as well as the upstairs apartment.
