"Our family had a wonderful trip and absolutely loved this property! The house was
incredible - beautiful, comfortable and very peaceful. The kitchen was fully stocked, the layout was perfect and my son and husband loved fishing off the dock. I would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely plan to visit again! Thanks so much!” -Caralee
THE KITCHEN:
A large kitchen island is the heart of the kitchen, which is at the heart of the open living space. The wine fridge is a guest favorite. The dishwasher, double sink and gas stove make cooking and clean up simple, so you can get back to relaxing. Guests will find the cabinets stocked with all necessary cookware and glassware.
THE DOCK:
If you’re here, then you’ve heard the river’s call! Red River is one of the best spots for fishing rainbow and brown trout in the country. And there’s nothing like being able to walk right out of your back door and down to your own private dock. One of our greatest joys is fishing the river off of the dock with our children! It’s the perfect way to pass the day.
“This home is a real Gem! Beautiful inside and out. Great trout fishing. Well stocked
kitchen... Wonderful patio options open and screened. It’s an all around wonderful place to stay. We will definitely be back.” - Carla
THE OUTDOOR AREA:
This is our happy place! On the wraparound deck are two different comfortable seating areas and a large grill for cooking up your catch of the day!
The newly added hot tub on the screened porch is a must after a day out! You’ll be conveniently sheltered from the elements inside the porch but still out nestled by the trees with river views. You can access it right off the deck or through the private entrance from the master en-suite bedroom.
The sun sets over the river, so the views from the entire backside of the house are breathtaking. Just wait until you see the colors bounce off the water while enjoying a glass of wine or whiskey off the deck. And then, of course, no retreat style getaway is complete without a s’mores night around the firepit!
THE BEDROOMS:
The master bedroom has a king bed, a full gas fireplace, and its own entryway to the screened porch with the hot tub and the rest of the deck. Its en suite bathroom has a beautiful jet jacuzzi tub that’s perfect for enjoying a long soak.
The other king bedroom boasts a comfortable space with stunning views of the river. This is the kind of place to enjoy breakfast in bed.
The third bedroom has two individual twin beds and a daybed with a trundle, making this the perfect room for kids or solo sleepers!
"Extraordinary place to stay. The minute you arrive a calmness takes over…Could not ask for more.” - Dana
THE AREA:
We’ve made it so that you’ll never want to leave the property, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to enjoy in the area.
For serious and adventurous fishers, we’ll set you up with our friends at Little Red Guide Service to show you the local-favorite spots and help you chase greater catches. We’ve even had them meet groups at the house to teach kids how to fish!!
Within a short drive, there are great hiking trails including Bridal Veil Falls. Greers Ferry Lake and Sandy Beach are only 20 minutes away, and Herber Springs is a great little town for shopping and dining.
If any of your group members like to golf, there are three great courses in the area, with Riverland Country Club being just 15 minutes away.
As for local food and drink recommendations, we’ve got plenty. Jitterbug Coffee Shop and Herber’s Best Donuts are great coffee and pastry spots. And if you’re looking for a more classic diner experience, check out Peggy Sue’s Place. There’s also Old Town Espresso and Ice Cream which is a local favorite. These are all in Herber Springs, so we recommend hitting these up while you’re already out for the day.
For dinner, Mack’s Fish House, also in Herber Springs, is great for seafood. But if you want to stick closer to the property, we love The Mercantile on Main Street Dairy Bar and Grille.
