"The property itself is wonderful for a family vacation. Ample room for everyone with the library/entertainment area, the dining room, deck, covered swimming pool and hot tub and every room with its own bathroom. Patrick couldn't have been more helpful. It was like having your own Concierge. Very helpful coming up with activities and and recommendations. The staff were friendly and took care of everything. The breakfasts delicious and large. It all worked flawlessly. "

"The villa has a great view of the lake and is extremely quiet. It’s secluded but still close to the main road and we felt like it was a safe area The directions provided by the owner are good but it is hard to find at night. The furniture, bedding and amenities are pretty old but we were not expecting 5 star. We loved Nuevo Arenal compared to the very touristy La Fortuna but there are of course more activities there. Overall very happy with the villa"

"The house is so cute and cozy! It has everything that you may need for your stay. From the kitchen to the different rooms, everything is set. It is private and the lake was indeed in front. It was clean and the communication with the owner was very easy. If peace and quiet is what you are looking for, that is absolutely your place. We got rainy days which made it hard to enjoy the lake. It was also far from activities so anywhere we wanted to go took us at least an hour and a half. "

"The house was amazing. Very well maintained and clean. The view of the lake was fantastic. No A/C but that was not a problem for us in February. Property Manager was very responsive. About 45 to 1 hour from most activities in La Fortuna which is not a bad drive. Some good restaurants nearby. The only downside was we only got to use the hot tub for a few hours on two days of our 4 day trip because it was not supposed to be part of the listing so verify availability of the hot tub if that...

"Villa el Tucan is a gem with impeccable service! Bijagua is a cute little village close to Rio Celeste with this new adorable lodge. The owners thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The cabins are cozy, clean, airy, and they even have screens on their windows and sliding glass door. Great lil porch to relax and enjoy the view. They even added a short walking trail to a refreshing river! They have thought of everything! "

"This place was an amazing stop on our trip to Costa Rica! Beautiful and peaceful, clean and comfortable beds. Owners provided quick communication with any questions. Enough restaurants within walking distance. We drove to La Fortuna area every day for activities (rafting, zipline, and canyoning) which was about 45 min, but manageable.Would highly recommend!"

"Petites notes négatives: peu de pression d’eau dans la douche et eau trop froide; pas d’endroit pour s’asseoir sauf les chaises en bois (pas de sofa ou divan). Les hôtes sont super gentils, attentionnés, la vue est à couper le souffle."

"This beautiful home was as advertised and now it even has a hottub over the parking area (which is not not in the pictures.) Communication was prompt and thorough. The road is just as bad or worse than everyone says. Many twists, turns, and potholes! Turning off Highway 1, the GPS said that the destinaton was on the right in 10 KM and it took 45 minutes to get there. We ordered delivery for dinner our first night and it was delicious. We also had Manu take us on a night hike around the property...

"Our group of 2 families enjoyed the stay here. We had everything we needed. The location is beautiful, but very windy. The scenery was the highlight for adults. Kids loved the mini golf and the upstairs loft (beware of the steep steps). It is about an hour drive to the volcano. Lots to see and do within an hour drive in all directions. There is nice food close by "

"We spent 7 nights here, and found it to be peaceful and scenic, which is what we had hoped for. The home is very well-appointed especially in the kitchen, which I appreciated since we most often cook while on vacation. Sharp knives, plenty of cutlery and dishes. The light switches were labeled, which was useful. Sheets and towels very good quality, always nice. Many afternoons spent on the porch swing overlooking the lake were very restful. "We got an upgrade because the room we had reserved was not ready. The upgraded room had 3 beds and 2 baths. The bathroom was huge and the furniture was beautiful. The view of the lake and volcano was gorgeous. The wrap around terrace was stunning. This was 10x better than the one bedroom, one bath we had. "
