"We loved the quietness of the location, and a walk to the ocean. Its cliffs so no water access but nice views. They have cameras for security which was a bit disconcerting, but the location was quiet and off the beaten path. It was an hour drive to Hilo and about 50 min to the Volcano National Park. The host and the local contact were responsive and great to connect with. All in all a great respite and vacation. Their added touches were a wonderful addition."

"The property is near the ocean. Great view from the lānai. At night the house was warm and the flooring was slippery and damp. The ceiling fans were a nice option to try and cool the house down. The house was clean and there was plenty of space. Check-in and out was easy. "

"We loved our short stay - the house was perfect for a family of 4. It was very well equipped, the appliances were in great shape, beds were comfortable. Our only complaint was that there weren’t beach chairs. But we used, and loved, the snorkeling gear, and appreciated the extra beach towels and cooler. It’s further from the touristy things than I realized when booking, so we ended up doing more driving than expected, but it all worked out fine. That’s as close as we could get to a complaint...

"My 3rd time staying at this property. If you want a quiet, beautiful, serene visit to the Big Island, this is the place to stay. Literally at the end of the road next to Kalapana. Much more relaxing than staying at the big resorts. I'll certainly be back for a 4th visit....Mahalo!!"

"Really a great change from the Kona beach experience. The Jungalow is really comfortable and well equipped. My family and I really felt at home, and loved the cool, misty mornings with the chickens and pheasants in the front yard adding a comical touch to morning coffee. I'm sorry we didn't stay a few extra days just to hang around the property. The neighborhood is great, my teenager is trying to get me to move here!"

"We had a marvelous stay in Volcano, the house is spacious and wonderfully decorated. We loved the kitchen and back patio + private jungle backyard. We were disappointed the Jacuzzi was not working during our stay but Mindi made up for that (and few misses by the cleaning staff) with the gift of some amazing live orchids from her farm, that arrived after we got back home! Highly recommended!!"

"This was booked last minute due to a last minute cancellation for another property. Beautiful property especially for the earthy type of individual. It was perfect for my needs however I don’t see people staying here that require more of an upscale type of setting. Leaving the room to use the community restroom is probably the only thing that was not too thrilling. All in all it fulfilled my expectations."
