"We stayed over the July 4th week to be near other family and attend some events. The camp was clean, cozy and had everything you could want/need- kitchen was very well equipped with anything you'd need for meal prep, including basics (salt, sugar, oil, spices,etc...). Lots of extra towels, linens, beach towels. Comfortable beds with views of the lake and little balcony off upstairs bedrooms. There was everything you could want for outdoor fun- paddle boards, kayak, canoe, motor boat, solo fire...

The lake's incredibly clear water made swimming and floating a true pleasure. Our dogs loved exploring the island, running around, and playing in the lake. "The camp is exactly what you would expect in northern Maine on the water. The location is very private due to the trees and rocks down by the water. There is a small beach on the property as well. Owner was very responsive and took care of an issue right away. Would certainly stay again."

One brave soul even took the paddle board out around the nearby island to get sunset pictures. Our host was very responsive to our questions. Would stay again if ever in Northern Maine. It was quiet, comfortable, there was a dock to swim off, a raft to swim to, it was private, it hit all the best amenities of staying at a lake. My kids want to live there now (9 and 11 years old). It was really clean, had everything (I mean everything) you need to stay there. We ended up staying an extra night. The communication was very good. Everything was made easy for us. It's close to a few small grocery stores and pizza...

"This is an old fashioned camp, but with the update of electricity and indoor plumbing. It maintains that rustic camp life feel with a little more comfort. I will note that this is a bring your own sheets and towels rental. "

"Signed up some time ago to be in Totality for the eclipse. Besides quick responses on our few questions from our host, we were able to connect with "the Slice" restaurant close by where we could view the south-west skies. Lots of friendly folks working there and in the area."

LOCATION: Located in the country (but all paved roads) was perfect to unwind and relax. Houlton was a quick drive away for any groceries if wanting to cook for yourself. The view from the back of the home begged for a moose to come strolling out from the distant tree line or a perfect inspiration for painting/capturing the beauty of fall...

"This hotel is an older hotel, which means the rooms are larger. You can actually walk around the room without bumping into furniture! It was quiet when I was there, which was on a Thursday; I don't know how quiet it is on the weekend. I plan on going back when I'm in the area again."
