Cozy Cabin by the Lake - Salt Springs Resort

Pristine, upscale 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage on Little Lake Kerr. Are you weary and just need some peace and quiet or are you just dying to burn some energy? Or, do you still need to work remotely but want to change up the scenery? Then this is the place for you!
Our cozy cottage is located in the heart of the Ocala National Forrest within a gated resort community. Come relax and enjoy serenity in this very special place that's loaded with old oak trees, Spanish moss and lots of wildlife. Our cottage has two really comfortable beds, a pretty décor, cable TV and strong Wi-fi! The eat-in kitchen is equipped for cooking and has plenty of seating. Like to read, have a glass of wine and watch the sunset? Perfect as we have a screened porch for you. Like cooking on the grill? Perfect - we've got a grill and picnic table for you. The Sandy shoreline is great for swimming, fishing or just hanging out on a pool float. If you've got a boat, bring it - boat launch available! We even have a pool table and and ping-pong inside the lodge across the street.
If you've never been to the Ocala National Forrest, you have to come! This area is fantastic for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts as there are tons of trails and natural springs! Activities include hiking, motorbiking/four-wheeling, boating, kayaking, biking and an outdoor gun range. Come enjoy the beauty of the forest and swim in the crystal waters of many nearby National Spring Parks. Resort amenities include pickle ball, basketball and tennis courts, heated outdoor pool, and shuffleboard. Walking distance to two restaurants and a bar! (ie a pizza place and a downhome cooking place!) Dollar General and small grocery store nearby!

Cousin getaway
It was a girls getaway for a weekend and it was great. Mary’s cabin was comfortable, clean and accommodating for our needs. Mary was quickly responsive when needed. I will be booking again.

we loved the cabin and location. We were all a little disappointed when we went to grill saturday and eat outside there was no gas and the grill was left very dirty. My grand daughters were sad we ended up eating inside. Otherwise it was a very lovely trip and cabin.

Lovely place to stay in a beautiful part of Florida
My husband and I loved our time here! The cabin had everything we needed and wanted and was close to amenities and things to do - the highlights being hiking the Yearling Trail in Ocala National Forest, kayaking Juniper Springs and swimming/floating in Salt Springs. The resort the cabin is part of is beautifully landscaped, and we really enjoyed getting to walk around and see the wildlife onsite and swim in the pool. Also importantly, the host was fantastic at communicating with us when we ran into some travel issues arriving which I'm especially grateful for. Once we got to the cabin everything about our stay was perfect!

Family Tradition!
This is our second stay with Mary and we will definitely be back! We were celebrating my mom's birthday and what we love about being here is there something for everybody! Relaxing on the front porch and beautiful sunsets. So happy to be able to make our memories here. Thank you so much for everything!

My family had a great stay at this cozy cabin. Very clean, well maintained, and the perfect spot near the water. We loved that the owner had left travel sized bathroom supplies and the cabin was stocked with everything needed for a good stay. Thanks again. I would highly recommended.

Awesome welcoming cabin
Cabin 25 is a spotless, beautifully decorated cabin. Close walk to the activities. Beautiful screened porch and a grilling deck with picnic table. Washer and dryer so you can go home with clean clothes. Mary the host is very friendly and very open line of communication. We look forward to renting again.

Lovely Quiet Haven
Our stay was truly a restful retreat. The cabin was supplied and decorated in tasteful and plentiful necessities. The kitchen had the very utensils we needed for our meals. The linens were plentiful and soft. No problems with the Internet or television. We will certainly be return guests to this "Quiet Haven"

Lakes, springs and forests - all of the outdoors boxes are ticked and the location within the Salt Springs Resort is an easy stroll to Little Lake Kerr. We traveled with two young children and everyone had a great time. We'll be back!

Mary was wonderful to work with. The place was absolutely beautiful and we so enjoyed sitting on the screened in deck looking out over the water. She answered any questions that came up with professionalism and a little humor thrown in. We would def be staying there again if we are down that way. If you want tranquility and a place to just relax and unwind, this is the place.

Absolutely perfect!
Such a perfect getaway to the Florida forest and springs! We visited about 7 different springs throughout our week stay at the cabin. Our boys (5 and 6) loved riding around on the golf cart and exploring the resort and all the amenities. The kitchen and bathroom was extremely well stocked! The house was clean and decorated cutely. The property manager was extremely pleasant, easy-going, and amazing! Already thinking about coming back to explore some more in the future(:

Just the break I needed
This cottage was the cleaniest VRBO we've stayed in, including the refrigerator. Interior was lovely with lake themed decor. It has a partial view of Little Lake Kerr from the porch, and in close range of the clubhouse, pools, game courts, & boat lauch. Unfortunately, the Salt Springs Resort hasn't taken care of the amenities provided, i.e. games (foosball, pool table & cues, air hocky), dirty/closed swimming pools, volley ball net rotten, a lot of trip hazards on sidewalks, & drop off at end of boat launch, We had other planned activities in the area and still managed to have a great time. Some of the resorts "Need To Know" information has changed, or is now being enforced. Our 16' pontoon was too large too fit in front of cabin. So if you bring a boat & trailer they need to be small enough to fit your tow vehicle & boat trailer in front of the cabin.w/5' clearance of the single lane street.

Tidy cabin in a bustling community
The cabin was well kept with all amenities as promised. Check in and check out processes were easy. Property manager was prompt and easy to work with. The resort community is busy. The cabins, rvs, and mobile homes are densely packed, so this location isn’t great for a quiet getaway. (There was a loud concert until 11pm the Saturday night we were there.) At the same time, the resort offers plenty of activities (a pool, shuffle board, pickle ball), so this location may be perfect for those looking for fun interactions with others.

Mary’s cozy cabin exceeded my expectations! Great location and nicely decorated. The entire cabin was well stocked from kitchen/cookware to towels/ linens! Would highly recommend staying here. Mary was very helpful and responsive.
