Meritage House - Excellent Location, King St. NOTL

Historic main street home with gorgeous veranda 3 Bedrooms 2 Bath. This historic grand home is located in the heart of Old Town Niagara on the Lakeā€™s main street and offers travelers a very special experience. It boasts with two queen bedrooms and third bedroom with two twin beds and two full baths.

Note: Our NOTL Short Term Rental License Number is 096-2018.

This historic grand home located in the heart of Old Town Niagara on the Lakeā€™s main street and offers travelers a very special experience. It boasts with two queen bedrooms and third bedroom with two twin beds and two full baths.

The attention to detail, quality workmanship and material is evident throughout the house, from the restored custom cabinetry to the hardwood floors and the restored ornate radiators.

The veranda and its intricate original trim are still intact and make it a very special place to enjoy a glass of local wine or a BBQ in the heart of the Old Town. Relax anb take in the glorious gardens that surround the property.

Lake Ontario is only blocks away, as are the Niagara on the Lakeā€™s Queen Street, Niagara Golf Club, many restaurants, and the Shaw Festival Theatre. The home is situated next the Prince of Wales Hotel. On a warm summer day, horse-drawn carriages can be seen parading by from the veranda.

Original doors with glass open to the homeā€™s foyer, which features a dramatic grand wooden staircase.

The spacious formal living room with hardwood floors, large windows is adjacent to he formal dining room has also has hardwood floors, double entrance doors at the site of the gamily room and kitchen lead to the gorgeous garden with multiple seating areas and a natural gas BBQ.

On the second floor, three bedrooms feature hardwood floors and a large bathroom. The master bedroom has queen bed and a walk-in closet. The second and third bedrooms have a queen bed and the third with two twins. In addition to the three bedrooms the second level offers an office space that is ideal for the business traveler.

This beautifully decorated and well-located home is the perfect place to get away from it all. Your host, Mark, is happy to suggest activities and help you explore to make the best of your recommendations for local pubs and restaurants.

Great location and property

We enjoyed our stay, however, there were barely enough towels for the four of us and no extras. It would have been helpful to know that we would need to purchase food storage bags, baking sheets, tin foil and other needs for our stay. We would have been happy to purchase them but not until we needed them did we find there were none. We would still rent the property but would be more prepared the next time. Thank you.

Delightful house

We were not given the code to check into the house for nearly one hour past the published check in time! After several messages to the property manager the code was sent. Not all lights in the kitchen worked. The repair person never fixed it during our time there in spite of the property mgrā€™s promise. Directions for the tv were poor. Otherwise the house fit our needs and was delightful. It was in a great location.

The host provided instructions for check-in very last minute. We could have made other driving arrangements if we would have heard back from the host at least a day prior to our stay. We have phoned in 3 days prior to ask about parking arrangements etc. We only heard back from the host two hours before check-in. Further, we inquired about garbage before our check-out as well but the host did not get back to us until a few hours after we have already left the premise. While we can understand the host may be in traffic or unavailable, we would still appreciate more prompt responses from management. We would also recommend providing Kleenex in the house, a non slip mat for the bathtub, and the welcome note/instruction may need some updates since lockbox info seems obsolete and typo regarding placing towels. There was also a funk around the front porch. It smelled like doggie waste was left in bushes. Thank you.
