Charming 5 Bedroom 8 Bath Home steps from Trinity Church & Downtown Newport

Originally built in 1779 and reborn in 2020, 46 Church Street is the perfect marriage of old and new. This one of a kind home sits in the heart of downtown Newport. During the rebuild—the historic exterior was thoughtfully kept in mind and its interior modernized to meet every need of today’s savvy traveler.

Classic details welcome you into the home where details of the original house’s signature entry were replicated with custom moldings and the reuse of the brownstone front step still in its original location.

The first floor offers an open flow kitchen-dining-living space; with refinished original 243 year old hardwood flooring throughout. This kitchen features a hand-hammered copper sink, a custom antique island with reused historic boards, stainless steel appliances and more. Also, on the first floor, there are two en-suites, a laundry room, plus a half bath.

The second floor features yet another open flow kitchen-dining-living space, along with a 2nd laundry room, a 2nd half bath and 2 more en-suites. Venture up the wide, graceful staircase to the penthouse level, where there is a sun-filled entertainment space featuring Sonos wireless sound system, large flat screen TV’s, and a well equip wet bar which leads out to stunning rooftop deck with unparalleled sunset views of the harbor and Queen Anne’s Square.

Each level of the home has a a private deck or terrace and a gas fireplace surrounded with custom tile from local artist Lee Segal at All Fired Up Pottery in Newport. Plus, all of the walls are adorned with wonderful old school Newport photography and paintings created by local artists Marc Fernandez. You will love living in downtown Newport, across from Trinity Church, Queen Anne Square and all of Newport’s exciting attractions.

Christmas Week Stay
This was our second visit to the property and it was just as great! The house is spotless and gave our 2 families plenty of space to both have space and join together for meals. The weather wasn’t the greatest but the house was toasty warm due to the gas fireplaces in each living room and we could still see the water from the third floor.

We had a wonderful stay for our daughter's wedding weekend. The house was perfect: comfortable, clean, spacious, and beautifully updated and renovated. It is in a nice location close to everything. Sean was always quick to respond to any questions. I highly recommend it and would definitely return.

A perfect choice!
Trinity House was the perfect choice for our weekend getaway with friends! Phenomenal location, ample entertaining space, exquisitely appointed, tons of room/privacy, and great views! Sean was wonderful and very responsive. Looking forward to staying here again when the weather is warmer.

Beautiful house with plenty of room for a large family get away and private parking. You can walk practically anywhere from this location. Sean is very informative and responsive, overall a great stay that we hope to do again!

Perfection in Newport!
Location, location, location! Wow, where do I even start? This home was beyond spectacular! From the moment we arrived, we were 'wowed' - it was perfection for us. The owner thought of absolutely everything and then some – every detail was covered to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and the property manager was always available for any quick questions. The house was immaculately clean (seriously, clean doesn’t even begin to cover it!) and beautifully appointed. It made the perfect setting for our bridal party to get ready, with stunning spaces that made for gorgeous photos. And the location makes almost all of Newport completely walkable! Highly recommend this gem in Newport – we couldn’t have asked for a better stay! Sean - we will be back!

An incredible 5-star experience!
We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this beautiful, historic home in the heart of the never-disappointing Newport, Rhode Island for a girls’ birthday weekend getaway. The owner, Sean was a pleasure to work with. He responded quickly to any questions we had and was very flexible. His 1779 historic home is spectacular. It is completely modernized design has the historic charm that makes you feel both pampered and jealous, (we all wished our homes looked like this). It was immaculate and the location was perfect - right in the heart of beautiful Newport, walking distance to everything. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! Thank you Sean for a wonderful place to stay.

We had a great visit to Newport with our four sons and their significant others. The home was as advertised; beautiful, clean and conveniently located downtown. Our only challenge was ice maker didn’t work and freezer floor had a big crack though should be easy fixes for future.

Absolute Perfection!
There is not one thing that this home is lacking! It is in a wonderful location to walk downtown; the floor plan is extremely well thought out for privacy while providing common living space for gathering (there are even multiple decks and outdoor spaces); and the kitchens (yes, plural as there are two!) are very well stocked. However, even more importantly, the home was pristine and immaculate. Never have we stayed in a VRBO home that was this well maintained. No matter how much this review went on and gushed compliments, it could not do the home justice. If you are thinking about staying in this home, do it! You won't be sorry! (Oh, and we are in no way affiliated with or related to anyone who has anything to do with this property!!)

Excellent home
This is a very well located property that worked great for our group of 7 adults. The management team was excellent. They notified me as soon as the house was cleaned and available which allowed us to access the house a few hours earlier than the scheduled check in time. I highly recommend this property.

Sean’s place was AMAZING! We have stayed at many VRBO listings and this place, as my husband said, was over the top!! Every bedroom with a bathroom are you kidding me! Superb views of Newport Harbor!!! Two full kitchens both fully equipped and living space to accommodate get togethers, it was perfect.Oh my goodness! It was worth every penny!! We can’t wait to come back!!

Son’s wedding weekend
Location, location, location! Situated in the heart of downtown Newport with three parking spaces, this home was perfect for our family’s stay to celebrate our son’s wedding weekend. The layout of the home - 3 levels with 2 fully stocked kitchens, and 5 bedrooms each with a full bath - provides ample space and opportunity for everyone to gather together and/or have personal space/alone time. The third floor deck was used numerous times for outdoor dining and relaxing in the evening. The home is clean and spacious. The owner/property manager was responsive to all our questions/needs. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Home!
Really beautiful home, looks brand new and very clean! Great communication and a very sweet platter of goodies when we arrived. I wish I read the reviews about the church bell that goes off every hour, all night long, being a light sleeper this was not fun for me. I will say though that 4 out of the 5 rooms you really can't hear the bell, so bunking up with my toddler wasn't ideal but did the trick. Still giving 5 stars because everything else was stunning!

A great home in a great location
This home was used as home base for my daughter's wedding in Newport. Location was perfect, less than 1 block from Thames St. Parking for 4 cars. A fairly recent renovation made this home very nice. Beds were very comfortable (although a bit high off the ground, if you have someone older). All BRs have en suite baths. Two beautiful kitchens (which we didn't use!). They were well stocked with coffee (both K cups and grind). A very nice roof deck. This home was perfect for our needs. Two very small issues: Bring soap as the showers only had a small tube of body wash and bring a corkscrew!

What an unbelievable home. The reviews and the photos just cannot do it justice. We stayed here with our bridal party for our wedding and we were all so impressed with the house. It had everything we needed, plenty of space and privacy, a perfect walkable location, and the attention to small details was really unmatched. I'm not sure I've ever stayed in a rental property this nice and well stocked. It was hard to leave but we will definitely be back. THANK YOU!!!

We loved our experience at this pristine property. We were in Newport for our daughter’s wedding and having our accommodations in downtown within walking distance of everything was perfect. Best House in Newport
We stayed here for our wedding weekend and it was the best house we could have planned for. Everyone in our wedding party had a place to stay and we were able to easily separate to designated floors while getting ready. The house is centrally located which made it easy for all wedding weekend activities. A groomsman put it best when he said, “this is the nicest house I’ve ever been in.”

Perfect location and layout for extended family
Our three-generation family stayed at this wonderful home for our daughter's wedding weekend. The location just a block from Bowen's Wharf made it perfect for meeting family and friends for dinner, taking a bridesmaids' sail and having friends stop in to say hello. The floorplan is unusual and simply could not have been better for us. Each of the five bedrooms has an ensuite bath plus there is a half bath on each floor for guests. There are full kitchens on both the first and second floors and the third floor has a wet bar. Our group used the first floor kitchen for making family meals, the second floor kitchen for serving brunch to the bridesmaids on the day of the wedding, and the wet bar on the third floor to keep drinks to grab to have on the rooftop deck. There is also a living area and dining table on each of the three floors. The rooftop deck faces the water and we had a perfect place to watch fireworks with the kids or hang out after they were in bed. And being right across the street from beautiful Trinity Church was just the icing on the cake for a wedding weekend! Just can't say enough about this home - it really made our wedding weekend so much more manageable and enjoyable. Everyone kept asking me how we found a home with so much space and amenities in the heart of Newport! Thank you to the hosts for sharing this lovely spot!

Four friends went on a "girl's" getaway and thoroughly enjoyed this home. We each had our own comfortable bedroom and private bath. The rooftop was fantastic.
