Located on a cul de sac on Plum Island – Plover’s Nest is that perfect balance of a quiet location that’s just minutes to all the action!



Newburyport is a 5-minute drive and has so many accolades: best place to live in Boston’s North Shore, Most Charming Downtown, and host of Hallmark Holiday movies. Why? Newburyport’s quaint historic downtown boasts excellent restaurants, unique boutiques, cultural venues (theatre, concerts, museums), and waterfront fun (whale watches, deep sea fishing, sunset cruises, & more)!



Plover’s Nest first welcomes you with outdoor gathering spaces – Adirondack chairs and bistro dining on the covered deck … and you haven’t even opened the door yet! As you enter Plover’s Nest, the home opens to a beautiful kitchen, comfy breakfast bar, and cozy living room.



The kitchen is nicely appointed with high-end appliances: fridge, a 3-burner induction cooktop, a combination microwave & convection oven, and dishwasher. The breakfast bar makes that morning coffee oh so convenient – everything’s right at your fingertips: Keurig coffee maker, coffee, and cups!



The living room with cozy couch & chair, big screen smart TV and a fireplace. The perfect place to snuggle.



Just off the kitchen is the full bathroom with large walk-in shower.



Step out the back door to find the outdoor shower and gas grill.



Ascend the stairs, to arrive at the romantic sleeping loft with en-suite bath. The queen bed is embraced by 90-degrees of water views. Guests can enjoy stunning sunsets! The ideal place for that quiet drink is the upper deck: take a seat at the table; relax, soak in the water views, and watch the stunning sunsets! Hidden behind the doors, guests will find the ½ bath and laundry closet.

Always a great stay

Great location, very clean, can bike to the beaches, and there are at least two beach restaurants at the end of the street. Close to Newburyport as well. Hope they get those curtains in on the second floor fixed and there is a vent outside the upstairs bathroom (outside) that needs a hood replaced or it makes noise on a windy night. Such small things true my, and it wouldn’t stop me from staying there again!!!

Enjoyable Trip

The property was true to the write up. It was well located, close to the beaches. Downtown Newburyport was a quick drive. We also drove to Rockport during our trip, about 45 minutes away, passing through Ipswich on the way.

Sweet retreat

Plovers Nest was a great place to stay. The space is very small, but stocked with the essentials. Comfortable bed- stayed during winter but could imagine that the decks and access to the water in the summer would be idyllic.

Perfect little New England cottage

Plovers nest is a great little getaway cottage for a couple. The property was very well designed, and makes great use of all the space available. The location is great for anyone interested in exploring the coast, Newburyport, Boston, or any of the numerous surrounding small towns. The hosts are very organized, and provided an extensive welcome message, with tons if info about the property, as well as the surrounding area. The property is beautiful, clean, extremely well maintained. We would love to book again next time we are in the area.

Lovely getaway

My husband and I had a great stay on Plum Island. This is a wonderful cozy retreat. The house was as listed, with all of the accoutrements we expected/needed. Check in and check out were super easy. We hope to stay again!

Excellent Stay

Property fit our needs perfectly. Home was on the end of the island and served as a great weekend reprieve. Easy access to Newburry Port, and not far from restaurants and bars on Plum Island. Would definitely return.

Short stay by the shore

Plover’s Nest was a true delight. The cottage is charming, modern, clean, and well appointed in a desirable area very close to the beach and downtown Newburyport’s restaurants, bars, and shops. The cottage itself was so cute that we didn’t want to leave to venture out. We look forward to returning to Plover’s Nest.

Wonderful bungalow

Loved this place. Great location and it was a very quiet space (though I did go and off-season at the beginning of May). Stove and microwave took some getting used to, and I didn’t use the oven, but the kitchen was great. It’s a small space, and the loft is open to the living area so it’s best for a couple that goes to bed at the same time or someone traveling solo. Wish they had a fire pit, but the space was great.

Paradise on Plum Island!

Everything about our August 1-6th stay at lovely “Plover’s Nest” was perfect! The home was gorgeously decorated, super-clean, and filled with all amenities we could possibly need! The loft bedroom welcomed both the sunrise and the sunset—so beautiful! The home was cozy, and yet spacious, for the 2 of us on a romantic getaway. We enjoyed the location as an ideal base for area exploration to the Plum Island beach, the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge at the other end of the island, and the lovely downtown Newburyport (great restaurants, shops, walkways along the water). We hope to return! Thank you for a great stay!
