Sitting on the outskirts of Newberg and tucked among the vineyards and farmland is this wonderful getaway. This detached retreat is separate from the main home where the owners reside. The space is perfect for two couples or a small family to stay and enjoy everything the region has to offer.

With ample parking out front, when you enter, you ascend up the stairs to this space that is all yours. There are two spacious bedrooms bathed in natural light and filled with décor and furnishings to make it cozy and comfortable. The main living and dining area has been configured in a way to provide the perfect blend of style and comfort. While there is not a full kitchen, the kitchenette has been set up and designed to provide as many features as possible and should prove fantastic for your wine country retreat.

The location is incredible. You can be in downtown Newberg or Dundee in just a few minutes while at the same time you will find yourself nestled among countless vineyards with easy access to the entire region. The Chehalem Getaway will be a fantastic location to base all of your Willamette Valley adventures out of. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all.

Charming Wine Country Stay
We really enjoyed our stay and the service. The TV wasn’t working and they were able to fix it asap. The apt is charming, with great views and located on a small farm with very cute chickens and goats (not noisy at all). It is located close many great wineries and restaurants. Overall, 5 stars!

Cute and Comfortable BUT…
The apartment and its location were beautiful, ideal for an adult couple looking to enjoy wine country. However, our family encountered several issues. The most significant problem was the stairs leading up to the apartment. We expected stairs, but we didn't anticipate how steep, numerous, and unsafe they would be. The wide steps came to an open and narrow landing leaving no room for error, which was nerve-wracking with our 3 and 7-year-olds as their room was across this landing. Additionally, while the owner was kind and accommodating, his comings and goings at early and late hours were quite disruptive. We experienced loud door slams that shook the apartment around 6 AM and again until almost 11 PM. There were also other minor issues, such as the internet not working and getting locked out of the building, but the management team resolved these promptly, which we appreciated. Overall, it's a comfortable place to get you by, but I must stress that it is not a safe rental for families with young children and VRBO should be prompt to make this a priority.

Great Stay - Both Visits
This was our second stay, and it was wonderful again. The beds are comfortable, the kitchenette and bathroom are well-stocked, and the furnishings are cosy and nicely styled. The above-garage apartment is very clean and felt very private. It's a very peaceful location, but near to wineries, the city of Newberg, and George Fox University (our destination). The scenery out every window is beautifully pastoral, and we loved watching the silly goats in the back during both of our stays.

Great Stay
Newly updated with many nice amenities. Very clean and spacious for family of 4. Great location for getting away from hustle and bustle but close enough to everything including amazing wineries. Bottle of wine was a nice touch. We would stay here again.

Chehalem apartment
This was a very nice studio apartment located above the garage adjacent to a single-family home. The apartment is large and spacious with two large bedrooms. The only drawback is that there is a kitchenette, not a kitchen, so we did not have the ability to cook any thing as there was no oven or stove. I missed that in the online listing, and it would’ve affected my decision to stay here.

Stellar Rental!!! Smart TV issues but it didn't disappoint!
Let me say first. Love the location...beautiful property...quiet and a great place to just chill. The beds were super comfy. I slept so GOOD!!! The only issue we had is we think the main TV remote was missing. We ended up having do download a samsung app on our phone to be able to access the smart TV to use the streaming apps. We saw this was an issue in a previous review...so we were prepared. We spent at least an hour though trouble shooting this issue with the property manager and it was beyond frustrating. Luckily my daughter had the thought process to try to download the app. The property manager agreed that the missing remote was probably the issue. Hope they get this fixed...we'd like to return. :)

The place was really lovely. The communication prior to arrival was great and even after we got there was incredible, until there was an issue. We were unable to use the Netflix- Amazon to watch a move. As this is a yearly fall trip for us, we generally do a theme which includes a movie. The communication was great however there was no follow up on what needed to be done to correct the issue. I could see someone had been there and left some batteries, but that wasn’t helpful. When I messaged the company who handles the property I had to explain the situation over from the beginning even through it was a text thread. The final answer was it seemed to work, but they could not explain why it wasn’t? So, we could not watch a movie. It was just frustrating and really kind of derailed our trip. We make sure the places we pick have amenities such as being able to watch movies etc. Having a VRBO myself, those are the directions that I like to leave in the reference book. Other than that the home Was really nice. You could tell they had put much thought and love into it.

Short Getaway
Yearly visit to see our son who lives in Salem. Perfect place for what we need. Close enough to everything we look for, dining, wine tasting, easy access. Very quiet location in a beautiful setting. Very clean, enjoyed our stay very much.
