Unique Waterfront Location on Muskegon River

Located on the Muskegon River between Hardy and Croton Dams. 1200 acres of all sports water. Close to trails and National Forest. Outdoor activities include shuffleboard court, basketball, playset, trampoline, and corn hole. 1 bedroom plus a pull down Murphy bed to sleep 4 adults. Plenty of room for kids on air mattresses or in a tent in the backyard. Full kitchen, fridge has an ice maker. Private dock available at extra cost. Just 8 feet off the water. Feels like a houseboat with the amenities of a cute cottage.

Comfortable and quiet

When we came everything was clean and ready. It was very quiet. The kids enjoyed swimming in the river and kayaking as well. The house had plenty of space. We look forward to visiting again.

Beautiful Getaway

My family loved everything about our stay and wouldn't change a thing. The cottage is clean, well stocked, beautiful, and cozy. The patio on the water is amazing. We loved sitting on the patio watching the eagles, loons, and other wildlife. Everyone is friendly and the hosts are amazing. My son did a lot of fishing and we also went swimming. I definitely look forward to returning in the future. 10/10

Great weekend getaway

Came up to relax and fish. Weather didnā€™t always cooperate for the boat, but great fishing at night from the porch. Hosts were responsive to any concerns or needs.

Love it here, been coming here two/three times a year for the past three years when visiting my father. Owner Rhonda and her husband are great. Perfect place for summer fun or fall colors.

Beautiful view of the river!

We came to the area to view the fall foliage. The property has an exceptional view of the river and hillside on the opposite side. It couldnā€™t have been any closer to the river. The property is a bit dated, but was great for what we needed.

Restful

We came to Michigan from Texas for three weeks, looking for cool weather in August. The cottage was supplied with the necessities. We enjoyed reading or having a glass of wine on the patio while watching the river. It was peaceful on weekdays as we watched the loons, eagles and herons. We also enjoyed watching the boaters, kayakers, and jet skiers on the weekends. The hosts could not have been nicer. They were close if you needed something, but not intrusive. While the cabin itself is all on one level, with both a tub and a step in shower, getting down to the cabin from the driveway is probably not for those with mobility issues. If you are staying a while, grocery stores, restaurants and shopping can be found less than 30 minutes from the cabin. There is one cafe almost right around the corner that serves a good breakfast. There is a little playground and shuffleboard court located next door but it sits back so that you donā€™t see it from the house. You can both swim and fish from the area around the house. While not fancy, it is nicely cared for and can be a fun, comfortable place to hang your hats for a few days.

Our annual vacation destination.

This was our second summer staying there and we are planning on coming back. I enjoyed getting up first and sitting outside drinking coffee, reading a book, and waving to people going by on boats trying to catch fish. We brought our kayaks that we used on the river by the house and also on the other side of the dam. The weather cooperated and we had an amazing time! Rhonda, the host, was very responsive and helpful. Can't wait to go back next year!

Peaceful retreat

Property needs repair and upgrades, floor tiles loose and broken, no towel bar in bathroom, air conditioner in bedroom is loud. Sprinklers were turned on and soaked my wife when we were heading out to a birthday party with 70 people in attendance and no time to re-shower or change clothes. Concrete steps are awkward to navigate. Parking is tight. Not an optimum place for people with mobility issues of any kind.

Little getaway

The pictures looked just like the actual place. It was very cute and homey. Grocery store right near by was nice! I didnā€™t really realize how close you were to other people tho. We were there on a holiday weekend so lots of people on both sides and we had some kids who would run right by on the porch while we were sitting there and once while I was changing. I didnā€™t except that so I had the blinds open haha I pictured it a little more like having that area to ourselves. I was sad I didnā€™t bring a fishing pole cuz I saw some nice fish right there! The views were amazing. Would love to come back when the leaves change. We also went tubing at Wisners which was beautiful and peaceful.

Just what we needed

This place is absolutely fabulous!!!! We wanted a little getaway on the water and it was just that. The place was just as they described it and very clean. It is quiet there which was a bonus. We had great communication with the owners they are wonderful. The weather was perfect.....not too hot or cold. We will definitely stay here again.

Riverfront property

The property was very clean and comfortable. The check in process was a fiasco. VRBO said my payment was accepted and the property owners didn't receive notice. I didn't receive any correspondence due to limited cell service. The issue was resolved but unnecessary.

The ultimate recharge

We are in Michigan on the lakeshore and only an hour a way, but the Muskegon River is our favorite area of our great state, and stay in the area every year. This property is the most unique and perfect for a couple weā€™ve ever stayed at. 5/5 We went early season, for Michigan, and it was so peaceful and relaxing. It was our 24th wedding anniversary and we spent a long weekend doing NOTHING. Which was awesome. The river side porch is covered and our last nightā€¦it rainedā€¦but it was so tranquil and soothing. If this property is available early fall this year we will 100% be booking again!
