Tandem Cottage: Cozy Coastal Cottage, Short Walk to the Sand!

Summary:
Take a step back in to simpler times. Your family and friends will love this 1950's Fisherman's cottage charmer - a little hidden gem in OBX! The property has been painstakingly renovated to bring back the good ol' days while providing guests with all the amenities of home.

We're dog friendly - WOOF! We do have a two dog maximum policy (no cats, please!), but no additional pet fees. Located across the street from a beach access, the two bedroom, one bath cottage sits on a semi-oceanfront lot. The building has been lifted so you can enjoy views of the sound, catch beautiful sunsets, and watch kite-boarders in the distance. Other property features include WIFI, flat screen TVs (3), a well-stocked kitchen, and a fire pit. 

One of two cottages on site, the property is a part of one of the few cottage courts still existing in Nags Head. 

There is a two-dog maximum, we do not allow cats, and we do not charge a pet fee. There is no smoking allowed in the unit. This unit is not handicap accessible.

Such a lovely bungalow
Really can’t say anything about this place but WONDERFUL! The host was so very attentive with my texts. The house was extremely clean and there is nothing more inviting than to walk into a clean smelling house as we did here. The bedding sheets were crisp just as we like but a few more towels for people staying a week would have been nice. Also the house doesn’t have a vacuum cleaner just a broom and dust pan. For us that have furry shedding animals that sure could have been a plus to have a vacuum. I’m the type that likes to leave a place clean when I leave even tho I paid for the cleaning service. Speaking of which, the fact that they don’t even ask what kind or size of your animal is something that was refreshing. Lastly I would give them 5 stars and definitely be staying here again!!!

Easy and Relaxed Visit of Nags Head
Tandem Cottage was overall a wonderful place to stay and might make it our go to spot for vacation. The place was very clean and updated. Amenities and supplies were plentiful! Definitely the spot to rent for small family getaways with your fur babies.

Cozy Cottage
We loved this cottage and look forward to booking for our vacation next year! A cozy cottage big enough for us and our two corgis, steps away from the shoreline and a mile down the road from Food Lion and, of course, Duck Donuts! The proximity of the cottage to Hatteras was a plus for us as we love beach driving and also took a day to go down to Ocracoke! There is so much to see and do on OBX, Nags Head is a great location to go to multiple areas with ease. The property managers were wonderful and responsive.

Fantastic place
This place was fantastic. It was extremely clean! I would never have known that they allow dogs because of how clean it was. It had everything that we needed for a great week at the beach. The location is great. The beach access is very close. It’s an older cottage but it’s very cozy and clean. Everything that matters is updated and nice. The laundry is shared with the neighboring cottage. Not a problem at all, just something to be aware of. Checking in and out was hassle free. We didn’t have any problems but I could tell that the care takers and owner were available if needed. The communication was perfect. Highly recommended!

Loved it!
We loved this cottage! It was very clean and comfortable. It worked perfectly for us. The kitchen is very well stocked, with everything we needed to cook dinners, etc. The beds were comfortable and the house is quiet. The bathroom was very clean. The location is great, being very close to the beach (basically across the street), and restaurants and grocery stores. We didn't have any problems but the host responded quickly when we had a question. We would definitely stay here again!

Would definitely return!
Amazing cottage right across from the ocean!! Plenty of space for myself, my husband, and our dog. Very clean and newly renovated cottage. Only thing I would have changed was that provided some basics like a roll of paper towels or a sponge if they expect things properly cleaned. Would definitely return!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and well-appointed. Perfect size for our group of three adults. From this location we were easily able to explore across the Outer Banks, from Roanoke to Corolla to Ocracoke.

Great cottage!
I really enjoyed my stay. It’s close to everything, steps to the beach, and it was adorable. Loved the beach theme. I also really appreciate that there was no pet fee and the nice backyard for my dog to run around. Checking in and out was easy. Amy wrote a email with great recommendations for restaurants near by. That was helpful. Overall great visit, and I will stay there again.

Great Location in a Cute Cottage
This cottage was perfect for a weekend getaway. The owners were very nice and sent a list of great breakfast spots and left a coupon for a 1/2 dozen Duck donuts, which was a great treat! Only complaints were the lights flicker a lot and the beds were really squishy. Otherwise this was a great cottage in a great location.

Amenities poor No hair dryer - tiny roll of TP, Paper towels and I plastic bag for trash provided Only very thin tiny bar of soap provided .Had to go out and buy more of these products . Had to take out the large garbage can out to the curb on trash day and return it to the house per house rules. TV did not work properly - sound system bad Could not watch it during our stay Never had the above issues at any of the places I have rented before on VBRO Would not stay again or recommend this place to others
