Perceived Quality Doesn't Align to Cost/Experience. ONLY A 2-3 STAR PROPERTY!!
The owners were quick to reply to questions. The unit was clean in the main areas. Sheets / bedding were clean. The location is near a lot of the tourist attractions. The staff managing the property seem friendly.
There was dirt / dust on the ventilation systems and in the bathrooms. The finishes are low quality (vinyl floors, painted cabinets, trims). The furniture is/was very cheap. Lots of Riff Raff around the building and even some inside the property (smoking at the pool area and other unsightly acts). Common areas are cleaned with some off-putting, intense industrial cleaners.
Owners branded this unit “Estella Lux.” The wording was an attempt at creating aura / mystique. Listing should have stated, “New Reno / High Floor Unit IN ATLANTICA RESORT.” They avoided a direct / clear reference to the exact property.
Listing accuracy serves only to ascertain the highest revenue for the unit, maybe unethical? We selected this listing based on Ocean Front, 2B/2BR, Highest $ to Lowest $. We assumed a higher quality experience by selecting based on higher price. Knowing what we paid and now knowing the Atlantica weekly rates, we overpaid SIGNIFICANTLY.
We requested if we could leave and receive some $ back. No refunds. We halfway and went to a new resort paying for 2 places. We hope the owners change their marketing.
Recommend VRBO calibrate listings to define property quality vs. price avoiding family’s paying 4/5 star prices for 2 star experiences!!
