"My husband and I booked this trip to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. My daughter has also been asking to go camping for at least a year and we weren’t ready to buy all the equipment. This was the perfect way to get the camping experience without the commitment! The view of the river and the mountains was breath taking. The restrooms had real toilets and were immaculate. "It seems in the past it might used to the be good, looking at the infra. We arrived and there was no one at the check in - it was closed. Thee was a nunber to be called, but no one answered. Finally, I found an on-site worker who knew someone ( not the person at the sign ) that could help me. A very nice old lady who did hsr best but could barely find the key. Finally, having found the key, we went to the room. Besides the bed, that was nice, everything else was serioulsy dirty, I mean, DIRTY....

"One of the most beautiful we’ve stayed in, really showcases the mighty Kern river and the glorious backdrop that is the Kern River Valley. You have everything you need, the decor is very cool with a 40’s cabin/Mid Century Modern feel and hosts are so gracious. I would highly recommend The Kern River House!"

"The place is set on a horse ranch. There is a little stream that runs on the property. It has a wood hot tub but I didn't find it as inviting in person as it appeared in the photos. The floor plan of the house is great and easily works for 5 people. The little home is decorated nicely. The property manager was easy to communicate with. Location is not too far from restaurants or the Kern River. I would stay here again!"

"Since we arrive, the magical neighborhood welcomed us with the rabbits around. It feels really lively and purest place, the rocks, the sky, we instantly fall into love We we opened the doors my cousins was so excited and when you see the kids having fun, it’s all that you need. It’s a piano and nice place at the back. Thank you for everything"

"A nice little cabin in a nice neighborhood. It has all the necessary amenities for a quick get away in the woods. Perfect place if you are wanting to have fun in the snow during winter. The host is extremely friendly, responsive and accommodating. We are definitely going to re-consider this place for our next visit to Alta Sierra."

"The house is very clean and well organized. The property manager was great! He communicated with us every step of the way to ensure our stay was enjoyable. "Our 3 night stay at this house in Kernville was lovely. The 4 bedrooms plus game room gave us plenty of flexibility with sleeping arrangements. The location is close to town exactly as stated. Communicating with the owner was super easy and she responded very quickly. No major issues, we just had a few questions and requested the air be a bit cooler at night. Temps in Kernville were around the 100 degree mark, so it was HOT. But the house was kept cool and comfortable, so no complaints there....

"When we first walked in, we thought it was cute and cozy but we turned into the kitchen then its a whole other living space. Its was spacious with a lots of entertainment. My family really enjoyed the pool, darts, and the hot tub. Easy to communicate with the owner; responded fast and was accomodated all our requests. My family loved it so much, they already want to book for next year!"

Finally, having found the key, we went to the room. Besides the bed, that was nice, everything else was serioulsy dirty, I mean, DIRTY. And Im not the picky kind of person. I wikl give one example ( there were others ); inside the dishwasher, there were used dirty plates from someoelse. I rest my case. Would never stay again and do NOT recommend. By the way, we stayed thefe withiut even having checked in. When leaving, again thede was noone there and I just left the key there. It was already paid."
