Burr Cottage. Centrally located in the Limestone Coast.

Burr Cottage is situated in the picturesque and quiet town of Mt Burr, surrounded by pine plantations and centrally located within the Limestone Coast region. The area's major attractions are within a pleasant scenic drive including Penola and the Coonawarra wine region (25 mins), Beachport (30 mins), Mount Gambier (40 mins) Naracoorte and Robe (60 mins). Mount Burr itself offers peaceful walks in the forest, tennis courts, playgrounds and a general store for hot food and groceries.

Peaceful location
Have stayed at Burr Cottage several times and would highly recommend it. The cottage is comfortable and cosy, immaculately presented, with everything required. Located in the small and peaceful town of Mt Burr, it is a great place to relax, but is also within easy reach of Mt Gambier and Coonawarra regions. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. Had an enjoyable stay.

Great base to stay
We have stayed here several times as the house has everything we need, is comfortable, clean, and allows us to have our dog with us. Check out the American-food/drink styled shop in the town, and explore the Limestone Coast from here

Pleasant, well cared for property
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house has been done up in recent years and is very comfortable and clean, and it is fantastic that they allow pets to accompany guests. Our dog was very happy and had plenty of space in their fully enclosed backyard. The kitchen has a full size stove/oven and microwave. The local service-station has great American-style burgers/sodas and international lolly selection, much to the delight of our kids. Whilst Mt Burr is a small town a bit 'out of the way', it is only 10 mins to Millicent and 40mins to Mt Gambier. We did day trips to Beachport, Robe and the Mt Jaffa wineries.

A gem of a place in a secret location
This house was as advertised. I don't wear shoes inside my house and it was wonderful to do the same as the floors were clean! A beautiful yard for our whippet and we enjoyed having our tea in the morning on the back porch looking over to the pine forest. It was so peaceful in this little town. The town is in a great central location to visit Millicent, Mt Gambier and coast. We took the coast road to get to Mt Burr and spent 2 days around Mt Gambier location and drove back home via Penola. Will definitely be back as we would like to explore closer to the rental. If you're into nature, bird watching you won't be disappointed. If you want a good night sleep this is the place and lastly the hosts had clear instructions to use everything and all we had to do is relax.

What a lovely place to stay!
This house was so comfortable and clean. A beautiful yard for our fur babies too. It was so peaceful in this town we wondered if anyone else actually lived there! We had everything we needed and it was close enough to shops and beaches were only half an hour away. We loved every minute of our stay! Will definitely be back!

Quiet location
Burr Cottage is in a lovely quiet location on the edge of town but is still within walking distance of the general store and only 10 minutes drive to Millicent. The property was immaculately presented and well equipped with everything required for a comfortable stay. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely peaceful beautiful cottage, home away from home
Burr Cottage was lovely. It made you feel at home as soon as you walked in the door, lovely shiny and bright, beautifully furnished. Couch and chair in lounge ever so comfy. Bed and bedding excellent, lovely and warm to sleep in. Great extra touches like shampoos, hand sanitizer, pantry items and torches. The cottage was well equipped with cooking utensils, pots and pans and provisions like tea, coffee sugar etc. The air cons were great in lounge and kitchen with extra heaters in the bedrooms. Burr Cottage is in a lovely quiet location with good blinds and curtains to keep the bedroom dark to sleep. Loved the children's room for those who have young children (not many places would have that) Plenty of games DVDs etc. It was a home away from home with lovely pillows and extra throws to keep you snug. We enjoyed our stay although it rained most of the time. Loved the self-check in, check out. Great if you are arriving late after dark. We loved staying there so relaxing. WE WILL BE BACK AGAIN FOR SURE. Thankyou Dianne for making your cottage available, it was a delight. Great central location. We went for some lovely drives in the rain, lol. Penola was lovely, the old cottages in Petticoat Lane, drove through the forest nearby and saw emus and wallabies and kangaroos.

Great spot for a getaway with the dog. Quiet with big trees!
Great communication from the owner. Lovely cottage with everything we needed for a comfortable stay with our dog. Great bed and cosy sitting room. Had a very relaxing few days with a lovely outdoor deck to watch the birds. Nice enclosed garden for the dog to explore.

a home away from home
Burr Cottage was a comfortable home away from home. It was very well presented, clean and tidy, with no pet smells and well stocked. I particularly appreciated the well stocked pantry and the washing machine. We enjoyed the board games and magazines, and even had a game of cricket in the field beyond the backyard. Wifi was very much appreciated especially by the boys - our Vodafone does not have reception... We have enjoyed our stay very much and will come back again. We used the Burr Cottage as a base for our activities. We walked the Mount Burr trail and the view was fantastic, just be mindful of the mozzie - they bit thru my long sleeve top. The climb to Mount Schank is highly recommended and go for a swim in the beautiful Little Blue Lake if you can stand the 12 degrees water temperature. Visit Mount Gambier and its Sunken Garden, go to Tantanoola Caves, have a swim at the beach at Canunda National Park...there is plenty to see and do and it's wonderful to go back to Burr Cottage to rest up and go again the next day.

Week amongst the Forest
The cottage was great. Everything is there that you need. Very comfy bed with electric blankets. Bath and separate shower. Great kitchen area. Really Good heating(air con). Comfy lounge for reading on. Very quiet but in a nice location at the edge of town, and next to the forest. Easy walk to the general store! And local trails, off street car parking, rain water for the kettle. Great location to the Seth East area. Short 15 min drive to Millicent ..check out the museum a must, Penola and Coonawarra wineries about 40 minutes away. Easy access to Mount Gambier and the coast. But mostly lots of peaceful walking in the nearby pine forests and some natural woodlands. I left very refreshed and the cottage was a great base to come home to every day. I hope I get to come back to the area and I would definitely look to stay at Burr cottage again. Absolutely loved my time here.

Home away from home
Burr Cottage felt more like staying at a relatives home. It was spotless, tastefully furnished and included welcome extras (pantry staples, toiletries etc), and complete kitchen utensils. Having a playroom was a welcome space for our older children for boardgames and puzzles, as well as the fully fenced yard with a lovely aspect. Mount Burr is a quiet hamlet, Millicent is only 10 mins away for other essentials. Mount Gambier and Coonawarra / Naracoorte all about an hour each way, so a central hub for this area. We enjoyed our stay and recommend Burr Cottage.
