Whether you’re looking for a place to unwind and relax, enjoy outdoor adventures, or attend graduation and sports events in the Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Roanoke, or Lynchburg area, Unwind and Reel ‘Em Inn is the place for you. This beautiful, newly renovated, lakefront home has five bedrooms and three full baths, a large family room with a stone fireplace, cathedral ceilings and large windows for viewing Smith Mountain Lake. You will also find a large kitchen with a full size refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, microwave and other amenities to make you feel right at home. The home also has a large recreation room complete with a pool table, board games and a PS4 for your entertainment. The house has a large deck that spans the entire back of the house and provides breathtaking views of Smith Mountain Lake. A gas grill and charcoal grill are also provided for your enjoyment. A lighted walkway provides easy access to the private dock. Enjoy swimming, water sports or fishing in the beautiful water of Smith Mountain Lake. For more information see our website at The house is located in a quiet neighborhood which is perfect for biking and walking.

The house comes fully equipped with everything you need, including bed linens, pillows anc comforters, towels, and some paper products, to enjoy a relaxing, peaceful and memorable vacation. There’s so much to do while staying at Unwind and Reel ‘Em Inn, you can relax on the large deck, enjoy the lake from our private dock, swim or play in the lake, nap in the two person hammock, play a friendly game of pool, or enjoy s’mores and conversation around the fire pit.

There are plenty of local attractions to keep you entertained when you go out for the day. The house is conveniently located near a general store and a grocery store for your household needs as well as several great restaurants. We are located just 15 minutes from Bridgewater Plaza where you will find many unique dining experiences as well as miniature golf, watercraft rentals and a marina. Or visit one of our local vineyards or breweries. Spend the day hiking along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway.

This spacious house is well suited for large groups and this property is a great spot whether enjoying a football game or graduation at the nearby Colleges and Universities: Virginia Tech (1 hour and 15 minutes), Liberty University (50 minutes), Roanoke College (50 minutes) or participating in youth travel sports in Roanoke (40 minutes), Blacksburg or Christiansburg (1 hour and 15 minutes).

Beautiful home on the lake
Very comfortable home for a big group. Well equipped with all of the amenities. Beautiful views of the lake. The deer visited frequently including a buck and a fawn. We had a wonderful stay.

A relaxing but fun weekend.
I went here for my birthday with all my friends. There was the perfect amount of space for us all to play games together throughout the house. The views were incredible. Definitely a great place for a getaway weekend with those you love.

Great memories
We rented the house to spend a weekend riding horses and hanging out with friend and family. One house had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the fire pit. The location is convenient to restaurants and grocery store. Maybe we will be back in the summer to enjoy the dock area.

Wonderful Family vacation!
This beautiful home is spacious with a kitchen I could easily cook for my large family in. There was plenty of sleeping areas to give us all privacy and the beds were comfortable. The property owner was super responsive and easy to communicate with. The view is incredible and the location avoids the heavy boat traffic SML can sometimes have. Lots of options for my morning runs which had beautiful views and wildlife sightings. As others noted, the steep driveway is a challenge for smaller vehicles, but my husband actually loved it in his Jeep Gladiator- LOL! I parked my van at the top and had no problem at all loading, unloading etc. it was not a problem for us but could be for older or disabled folks.

Peaceful stay by the lake
Overall the property was perfect for our needs. The upstairs was perfect for the adults to sit and enjoy each other’s company and the kids/teens played PlayStation and pool downstairs. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans. We have stayed at several VRBOs and this one had the most comfortable beds by far. The view from the deck was second to none. The fire pit was perfect for our group. Yes it was a bit of a walk to the lake but the stairs were well maintained and were easily used. Laura did a great job with her descriptions so we were fairly well prepared for what to expect with the property.

Nice house but property isn’t friendly to those that have physical limitations.
We went for my friend’s 40th birthday so there were a few kids & several adults. The house was really nice. It’s open floor plan upstairs, big kitchen & view of the lake were superb. However, I think it needs to be made very clear in the listing that this is not a handicap friendly home. It should be go on to state, in depth, how steep the driveway is AND how steep the walk is from the home to the dock/water. Only high vehicles (SUVs & trucks) can get down the driveway; sedans will bottom out. So if you have a sedan, you’d have to park at the top of the driveway & carry everything down the very steep driveway into the home. For your sake, I hope it’s not raining. The stairs from the home to the lake are nicely done but very steep. My friend that torn her ACL years ago couldn’t get down to the water. For those of us that could go, it was pretty much a one & done trip; we didn’t make any trips back up if we forgot something. Even the kids complained about the walk back up to the house. We also didn’t use the fire pit at all because it’s at the top of the driveway. We wanted to but we would’ve to walk up the unlit, steep & uneven driveway in the dark and we just didn’t feel it was safe to do in the dark. So, we really enjoyed the house but the intensity of property needs to be made clear. This home would not be a fit for those that are older or not physically fit. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but I want those renting the home in the future to understand the property.

Practically Perfect in Everyway!
A group of extended family stayed here to gather and celebrate a graduation from Roanoke College (about 45 minutes away). The house was great - clean, comfortable, spacious and a beautiful setting right on Smith Mountain Lake. We had everything we could possibly need in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. There are perfect gathering spaces to eat, play and just visit and also plenty of room to get away for some alone time! The only thing we didn't like was the driveway - I highly recommend parking at the top and walking down to the house! We had a wonderful weekend and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and recommend it to others.

Family vacation
We loved our week at the lake...the back of the house is nice and open plan for a large family; the docks were great, and the kitchen well stocked for cooking-loved a 2nd fridge. A few things in the listing were not 'great': the hammock was broken, the lawn wasn't mowed, and there are 116 steps from the water up to the house- a bit of a hike with babies! But we enjoyed the week!

Great home base even on a rainy weekend
While the weather didn’t cooperate our stay was great! Easy, good time, and restful. Instructions were clear. Only challenge was wishing there was a sign that said leave cars at the top of the driveway unless 4x4.

Wonderful location
Beautiful cabin in the woods with a nice lake view! Good appliances, clean and neat! Good for a small group. Just note that the lower level bedroom mattresses can be too soft for two people to sleep comfortably but manageable. Overall a nice experience!

We enjoyed our stay. House was well stocked, a nice welcome kit was provided, and owner was very responsive to questions. House had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend with family and was a convenient boat ride to nearby marina. The nearby community boat ramp was also very convenient. Dock had a beautiful sunrise view with mist on the lake.

We had a very enjoyable stay with lots of laughter and good conversation with family members. The view of the lake from the dock was amazing. We had several older ladies and we had to drive them up to the campfire for the evening we made smores. The driveway was an experience like being on a roller coaster and you thought you were going to drive into the house. Some updates to make the showers more ADA- adult disability act- friendly would be nice. Some grab bars around the toilets would be nice to help them out also. Overall a great stay and would recommend any one the house. Laura was great to work with and very prompt on getting information to us.
