Crab Cottage

Crab Cottage is a dog-friendly, little unassuming cottage right on the beach. Walk in the front door, and you will see gorgeous views out the west windows. To your left are a small but efficient kitchen and dining area. The rest of the downstairs has the bathroom and living room with gas fireplace and a full-size Murphy bed. A narrow fixed ladder with rail takes you upstairs to the loft, where two additional double beds will be found (ladder weight limit 200 lbs).

The backyard has a great deck and a firepit. And of course, miles of beach. This home is perfect for the fisherman, surf kayaker, or beach bum, and is ideal for relaxing. There is a small television with DVD player, so bring your favorite movies or games and relax the night away. This home is all about getting away and spending quality time with friends and family. Parking is limited, with space for a vehicle on the south side of the home, and one in front.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

It has a wonderful ocean view. It was a little older but still very cozy. It had easy access to the ocean. The loft had some narrow stairs to go up and down, so need to be careful. The deck on the back was very nice to sit and watch the ocean waves.

Pros: Very cozy inside and out. Well-kept yard and path to beach. Cons: We could not find a key to lock the digital lock and we were not told if there is a key. We had to leave the cottage unlocked when we were exploring, and when we departed. The toilet paper provided was absolutely not useful - it had to be folded at least 8 times to be sanitary. We bought our own at the local store.

Beautiful and serene
This was such a cozy cottage with a peaceful and serene view. We loved waking up every morning to the sounds of the ocean and seeing the view from our bed downstairs. The upstairs feels a little cramped and stairs are steep but since it was just two of us we didn’t use it. It was wonderful that we got to bring our two dogs they loved sitting at the window too!

Great getaway
The location with the beach steps away and situated on a quiet street is ideal! Great yard for sitting around the campfire! The cottage is a rustic beach cabin with the necessities available. We didn’t need the beds upstairs, which was a good thing because the stairs looked scary. Overall a wonderful stay at the beach at the Crab Cottage!

Cozy cabin with amazing view
The cottage was basic but cozy and had an amazing view that could be enjoyed from the couch, the deck, or a bench by the fire pit. We enjoyed curling up on the couch by the fireplace and watching through the window as a storm rolled through. The town was pleasant and quiet. If you’re looking for a newly remodeled place in a location with a happening night scene, this is not for you. Like the online listing describes, this is a cottage right off the ocean. Perfect for quietly enjoying the view or walking along the beach.

First time at the Pacific
It was both mine and my partners first time at the Pacific Ocean. Wonderful space to stay! I loved the charming cottage and the location was amazing! A short drive to Olympic National Park and Forrest. Would absolutely stay again if and when we come to Washington from PA again!

Getaway
Traveling with a 2, 7,& 8 year old, had a blast in the cabin and on the beach! WiFi is very slow and spotty weather it’s going to load anything, if you’re traveling with children that are tablet kids make sure you have downloads of their shows or very old school and bring some DVD’s to entertain them in the evening. Otherwise plenty to get into. Very quite street with low vehicle traffic. Would highly recommend.

Cozy little cottage but very nice and comfortable. Got hot on summer afternoons so im betting it would stay warm if you were planning an off season visit. Right off of some very lovely beaches!

Full Septic Tank
When we checked in there was sand and dirt in shower. The internet did not work. The BBQ was not in working order. The toilet flooded the first night poop water flooded kitchen. We called Vacasa international and they said they would reach out to owner, no one ever called. The next day toilet backed up again, called again they said they would reach out to owner and get back to us, no call back. Later same day septic alarm goes off. We call again, told again they would reach out to owners, again no call nothing. We where told by Vacasa International that we would get a full refund. Next day we wait for house keeping. Inform them my husband has cleaned up poopy water twice , had bleach spilled on him. They call the owner we where informed full refund. Finally maintenance comes out. Says the septic system is full.

Simple pleasure value, ocean front!
We stayed here for my birthday because I wanted to be next to the beach on a budget. Loved that we could walk right onto the beach from the back porch. The wild and quiet wash of the waves were blissful as opposed to noise of a city.

Much smaller than it looks, sleeping 6 would be very crowded. Internet didn’t work, no landline or reception for cell service. Fireplace didn’t work. Needs a lot of work all together.

Overall...
Cabin could have been cleaner, bathroom wasn't what they showed in the pic's. Very small toilet/shower... Definitely more rustic than what the pic's showed but we made it work and the beach access and view made up for all of it!! Definitely more of a summer getaway vs. winter where you'd spend more time inside.

Crab Cottage
We have stayed here several times. The location of this house is great. Recent new TV which is good. Recent newer pans which was really needed. Floors are nice. Then the not so great. There were 3 pieces of toilet paper on the roll and no replacements. The shower has mold. The couch is disgustingly dirty. The linens are not useable as far as I am concerned and the beds is very old and uncomfortable. It's a great price if you can handle what this little cottage is lacking.

Not worth the expense
I rarely if ever give bad reviews so this kills me, but I don’t want anyone else to have the same experience. I’ve rented dozens of properties through VRBO over the last 10-15 years. This is the first time I almost walked back out upon arriving somewhere and went home. The property is falling apart. We don’t mind old places at all if kept clean, and things work and are safe. I doubt it’s even to code honestly. There is exposed insulation in the ceiling. One wall we could see right through to the outside, the dishes in the drawers were dirty, fridge dirty, cobwebs on the ceiling, empty wine bottles on top of the fridge. Everything metal was rusty and corroded (mirrors, wall heaters, etc.). The ceiling upstairs was duct-taped to hold it up. The carpet in the bedroom at least 40-50 years old and didn’t look cleaned ever. Don’t even look in the gap next to the shower. Our check in was pushed 2.5 hours late to 6:30pm (75 min prior notice to 4pm check in). The bbq was not the one in the ad photo, it wasn’t worthy of the landfill and barely worked, so we had to buy a charcoal bbq from ocean shores. This was a short weekend getaway turned nightmare that cost us more in the end. We would have been better off camping in a tent or renting a room. The view and access to the beach was nice and no neighbors were home, which kept it quiet. Otherwise do yourself a favor and spend another $100-200 and get something safe and sanitary. I let Vacasa know they should reconsider taking on accounts like this. Shame on the owner of this property for considering this rentable. Never booking here or through Vacasa again. We just can’t afford to take a risk like that again.

Beautiful beach front cabin
The outdoor space is what really sold us on this property, you can't beat the beach access and the grassy yard to relax. The cabin was rustic and fairly comfortable. Updated furniture would make the stay more comfortable, the couch and bed seem worn and show staines. The couch smells of animals.

Nice place, poor customerWe service system
The cottage was cute and location beautiful. We did not mind the rustic settings. It was not extremely clean with pet hair on things. The first night we were freezing, just a thin blanket for each bed and a gas stove that did not heat the house well. I tried to contact the host using email, text and this app and did not get a response. Finally found Vacasa’s customer service number and called 2 times waiting on hold to talk to a random customer service rep before we got a call back from someone local. The local person was very nice and helpful. I would think twice before renting a vacasa home again.

While some things were in disrepair (smoke alarms, missing lightbulbs, exposed conduits), we were really only bothered by the extensive ant issue in the kitchen. I would recommend getting an exterminator to focus on the kitchen counter before renting to anyone else.

Could use some attention
Overall this is a decent rustic cottage. The location is stellar to Moclips beach access, especially with dogs. The gas grill wouldn't light, there we no rocks in the base of the grill and no lighter to manually light the grill either, We were planning to grill burgers and steaks as the listing posted this option but we found it unusable. There were also ants in the kitchen which came out when we left our stuff on the counter for a short time during our meal. The fan that is in the space doesn't function and should be thrown away. The place is cozy and adequate but could definitely use a little love from its owners to make it last.

Small space!
Must be comfortable with a very small space! There are some maintenance issues that could use improvement in general. The pictures in the app definitely sell a brighter slightly larger space that looks better than reality. And would only recommend kids to go up & down the ladder to sleep upstairs in the loft. However, it’s very cozy, and the best part of this house is the location right on the beach!!
