Dust off your hiking boots and head to this 2-bedroom, 1-bath vacation rental, ‘Pioneer Cabin 2!’ The authentic log cabin features endless outdoor entertainment, including upper and lower decks, picnic tables, a gas grill, and fire pit. In addition, the home sits at 7,600 feet in elevation on the La Sal Mountain Range with views of 6 mountain peaks. Downtown Moab and its restaurants and cafes can be found within 18 miles, while Canyonlands and Arches national parks are just short drives away!

Perfect family vacation
This cabin was just what we were looking for. We wanted to be secluded but still pretty close to the city of Moab. The drive up to the cabin was so pretty. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife in the evenings and the stars at night. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was the perfect size for our family of four. My daughter also loved seeing all of the humming birds at the feeder. She even bought a stuffed humming bird as her souvenir from Arches National Park. 10/10 recommend for anyone wanting to be outside of the hustle and bustle from town.

Great Mountain Stay
This was a quiet little mountain cabin that was perfect for our visit to Moab and the Canyonlands. Cabin had everything we needed and the host responded to our question quickly. Would definitely recommend staying here is you are looking for a peaceful place to stay with a gorgeous view!

Stayed here with the family. Very clean. Very easy check-in/out. Gorgeous views, sunsets, and stargazing. No cell service at the house, but wi-fi worked well. As advertised. Would recommend to others.

Mountain retreat above it all
We came to Moab to hike, mountain bike and enjoy the desert. This was a great home base outside the fray of Moab where we really could enjoy the peace and beauty of the mountains. The kitchen is a bit rustic but has most of what you need; we also took advantage of the grill and the fire pit, which was great. We’d absolutely stay here again.

Seclusion in hills above Moab
My husband and brother and his wife enjoyed our stay in Pioneer Cabin #2 for 3 nights while we visited Arches and Canyonlands Natuonal Parks. Cabin was very clean and comfortable. Disappointed that there were only 2 mismatched wine glasses for 4 adults and no wine bottle opener. Handrails up the steps to the front door would be helpful for us as we are in our 60's. Overall, we enjoyed our time.

Great family trip!
So glad we found this cabin. Being away from town was awesome and the views are spectacular! The drive wasn't bad at all. We had everything we needed, plus some, great host. If we are out this way again we would definitely stay again!!

Serenity Now
Beautiful, peaceful, calming, just as advertised. It was the perfect getaway. It was everything we needed in a private rural type of location. The house was so cute, clean and quaint. Amazing views. Stayed outside majority of the stay. So quiet. The view from the upstairs bedroom was awesome. Just as a side note, the bathroom is located on the first floor and the king bed master bedroom is on the top floor. It was a little inconvenient to go downstairs in the middle of the night, but not a big deal. I understand there’s only so much space. Nevertheless, everything was wonderful. Enjoyed our stay tremendously. Thank you.

Just Excellent
These are the words my wife used to describe the cabin. “It’s just excellent!” We had a spectacular time. It’s just far enough away from MOAB city to attain some peace and quite after a day’s activities. We will for sure come back.

Mountain Serenity
Pioneer Cabin 2 was incredibly peaceful with spectacular mountain views. In addition to cooler temperatures it was great to head to the mountains and escape the hustle/bustle of Moab after full days of hiking. The cabin was comfortable, spotless and perfectly appointed...the washer/dryer was a huge bonus, particularly after hot and dusty hikes! Having the opportunity to view the amazing sunsets and moon risings from 2 decks was awesome, as well as watching the hummingbirds. We felt as if we really had found a "gem" with this property. Looking forward to coming back again soon!

Quiet retreat
It’s a bit of a drive from of downtown Moab, but it is worth it!! The views are fantastic and you can actually hear bees buzzing because it’s so quiet. Exactly what we are looking for. We will stay again!

Beautiful Mountain View’s
My family and I enjoyed the quiet mountain getaway. The cabin was clean and cozy. We prefer to stay at places with great views and few if no chance of being around other peoples noises. We’re used to driving a ways to get into town so taking over 20 mins to get into Moab was normal for us. The bonus was Ken’s lake at the bottom of the mountain for a quick swim. I suggest looking up trails on the AllTrails app for some great hiking & biking around. We don’t like to vacation in the same area twice but if we did, would rent again.

We selected this vacation rental cabin because it was up in the La Sal Mountains and very rustic. In fact, they market it that way. All around it is BLM and state lands. We had a few teens who wanted to sleep in tents while the adults slept in the cabin. No where on this listing did it say that tents were not allowed on this property. However, the owner stopped by and told us that tents are not allowed at her Rustic Cabin way up in the La Sal Mountains and asked us to leave. She admired we were clean and quiet yet still asked us to leave her property because we put up tents. Very lame!!! So, we left and will be asking for our money back from VRBO!!!

Absolutely Amazing
I don’t know how else to describe this property. If you looking for a quiet, secluded, gorgeous cabin then this is it!! The cabin is on top of a mountain and has amazing scenic views. The inside of the cabin appears to be brand new and meticulously cleaned. This is by far one of the nicest cabins I have stayed in at this price point. If I ever go back to Moab I will definitely be staying here. I can’t thank the owners enough for what they have provided! They were super friendly and helpful. Thanks again!

If it’s available book!
Can’t say enough nice things about this property. Wonderful views, far enough from town to feel like you have privacy but close enough to still go out. I do suggest if going up for the first time to arrive before dark. I didn’t and the road can be a little scary just because of how incredibly dark it’s able to get out there and just seeing where your going is helpful. Other then that it was a fantastic stay and we definitely plan to return in the future!
