"This was a wonderful experience, very friendly staff who were always ready to help, offering glasses of chilled water in the spacious and well-furnished public rooms and alcohol in the evenings. We stayed in the large Shakespeare room, often used as a Bridal Suite. The spa is great, with a good sized pool, a jacuzzi and unusual sauna.
Really good breakfasts served in bedrooms and at the nearby sister-hotel Milsoms. The fine dining at the main restaurant on the nearby River Stour was sublime,...

"The Marlborough is a pub with tasty food and about five rooms for overnight stays. The staff is outstanding and does everything possible to be helpful. It is on a central street of a very small town, so it can be a bit noisy during the day and early evening, but is quiet at night. The rooms have nice versions of all the basics, including a good bed and excellent shower. There are few extra amenities beyond the room and pub, although the breakfast was very good. "We had a lovely 2 day stay. Greeted by the delightful Megan on reception who looked after us beautifully. Our room was very nice and comfortable. Our two breakfasts in the glorious dinning hall were exceptional and both Doreen and Sorrel went above and beyond to make it such a special experience. Excellent service and friendliness. "We loved it here, had a a good couple of nights with friends. Beautiful apartment, amazing mattresses and pillows, very quiet environment. The pool wasn’t open and some work was happening but you can tell it’s going to look amazing once they put it all together and summer prep work is expected at this time of year. Kara was fab and we met a super helpful housekeeper who is doing a degree who was a literal walking tourist information centre. Great atmosphere all round ."

"Nice tidy and clean room that looked like it had been recently fitted out.
Decent sized Kitchen at each end of the corridor i didn't use them but they looked fully kitted out and new.
The hotel is on a quiet residential street but took me 5mins to walk into the town centre which has loads of bars, shops and restaurants.
Worth calling ahead of arrival and they'll reserve you a parking spot (There aren't many spots)
