Copper Lodge - Lake Miltona License #: 1999

Copper Lodge was born out of family vacation traditions through the enjoyment of all seasons, lakes, family fun and cozy nights by the fire. Copper Lodge is a private, practical space for enjoyment and relaxation consisting of two lots near Miltona, MN. Copper Lodge is located on a back lot in close proximity (5 minute walk) to the lakefront lot that has shared access to beautiful Lake Miltona. The lakefront lot consists of a sandy beach, shallow water and a long dock for easy access and fishing.

Lake Miltona is a large lake at just under 6,000 acres. It is known for great fishing and excellent recreation. Copper Lodge is just a few minutes from the public access and from hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails. Copper Lodge is located on a half acre lot that consists of a 2,000 square foot shouse style property. Copper Lodge has 1,000 square feet of living space, 1,000 square feet of shed or recreational area and plenty of parking for your vehicles and toys (indoor and outdoor). The large cement parking space and patio, the bonfire pit area and a 10' x 12' utility shed for your storage needs are a few of the outdoor features of the property.

The indoor living area features a full bathroom, kitchen and two bedrooms on the main floor consisting of a master bedroom which has a king bed, large dresser and a smart TV. The second bedroom has a full bed, large dresser and smart TV as well. The loft features ample sleeping space including two queen beds and two twin beds. There is additional room for you or your pets to sleep or hang out in the loft in addition to the beds. Tons of space!

The large recreational area is mainly open space for you to enjoy. The 12' x 12' overhead door provides easy access. This area does include furniture, a large sink, smart TV and a dining room table with chairs. There are additional tables and chairs available for seating up to 20+ people to accommodate your larger family or friends gatherings or even business meetings. WiFi is included along with 2 Firesticks for your live and streaming TV needs.

Perfect
My son and I needed lodging close to our hunting land and Copper Lodge was a perfect fit. The outside of the lodge very clean and provided more than enough parking. The inside was very clean and organized the main great room with large sectional, TV, Bose Speakers, and coffee bar provided us with all our needs. Bedroom in the kitchen would be our only slight negative feedback. If you're with your family, it no big deal however if you're not with family some people may not like this arrangement. It did not bother us. Thank You Copper Lodge and Dean!! very good Communication reached out a few times to ensure everything was okay.

Weekend away with my boys
Nice place to say with my sons. The ceiling in the loft is pretty low but the beds are comfortable. The kitchen area is small and in a hallway by the bedrooms and bathroom. But it does have most everything needed. Using the blackstone flat top was very nice. Large main area is a nice gathering area for large groups. It was convenient to family we have in the area.

Family Summer Gathering
We loved our stay at Copper Lodge! The checkin process was seamless and the location was great! We did not realize that the one bedroom was a walk through to another bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen, however, that did not phase us as we are pretty easy going and not once woke up to anyone going to the bathroom or passing through at 6am to go fishing on the amazing lake! The lake water was crystal clear, seeing down at least 12 to 15 feet in some areas. We caught a variety of fish from sunnies, walley, small mouth bass, and even a northern. The lodge was stocked with the necessary items, toilet paper, towels, laundry detergent, pots, pans and a few spices for cooking and also some games. When it rained we were able to have an indoor karaoke party and bean bag tournament with room to spare! The fire pit was just down the short hill from the lodge and there was ample supply of wood and folding chairs if you happened to forget your own. Contact with the host was easy and timely. We had asked about where a certain beach was and they not only directed us to that, but also let us know where a sandbar was and other nearby attractions. The sandbar, by the way, was very awesome! I would highly recommend staying here, especially with a slightly larger group for daytime activities. No issues with neighbors as we respected their property and kept our noise level to a minimum, especially after 10pm. We have already booked for next year since we had such a wonderful experience!

Overall we had a decent stay but encountered some problems. Our primary complaint is that the dock provided is very short compared to surrounding docks and is in shallow water, so we could not even get our boat over to the dock without it getting stuck in the sand. This made it so we could not dock our boat for the weekend which was very inconvenient and misleading based on the description of the dock provided by the host. Neighbors saw us struggling and were very rude to us, and also mentioned that this is not the first time this issue has come up with Copper Lodge guests in the past, yet it is still not disclosed in the listing. This was quite frustrating and would have been good to know before booking this property. Another complaint was the ceiling height in the loft. We knew it would be low, but it is lower than how it looks in the pictures so we only went up there to sleep because we couldn't walk without hitting our heads. Lastly, we appreciated the complementary firewood but it was wet upon arrival and we therefore could not start a fire. It'd be nice if it was covered in some way. Other than those things, the property was good - temperature was fine, blackstone was nice, dishes were provided, beds were comfortable, we enjoyed the games (cornhole, apples to apples, etc). If docking the boat is not important to you, then this property would still be a good option.

Review
The open space worked well for our family. The kitchen & bathroom right next to the bathroom made it very difficult for sleeping when others are still up. Especially for a little one. The picture of the lake is way off or a different location. The water by the dock is all weeds and not a nice Sandy beach as shown in the pictures. The pictures also don’t show the shed in the middle of a neighborhood.

We liked the property, it was a wonderful yard and plenty of room to stretch out, kids loved having the TV for late night watching. We were sad that we could not swim at the little beach and had to drive to beaches. Loved the Blackstone Grill and used it everyday, it was great to have to cook corn on the cob and the pasta dish we made one night. The kitchen needs more counter space and I would recommend a cart for the microwave and pizza oven if possible, also some larger bowls and a strainer would have been nice.

Family get a way
We had a great time - wish the weather was warmer to have been able to enjoy beautiful Lake Miltona more but overall a great week for all of us. Property and yard were big enough to accommodate our needs. Host was very quick to respond with all questions.

Amazing experience!!
We had such a wonderful stay at Copper Lodge! Very spacious and plenty of beds for our whole family. The lake is only a short walk away, the bean bag boards were an awesome amenity to have, we even played it indoors when it was raining. The host had extremely quick response time when I had questions, and very friendly. I feel as though Copper Lodge was very well stocked with basic things you would need while you're there. Our experience was just great overall and we would love to stay there again!

Our stay was great. VRBO app and online was down so we were unable to communicate with owner. Through some Google searching we located the place as we could not get the address without VRBO app and website working. This had nothing to do with place/owner though just a hiccup with VRBO. Used the Blackstone griddle for most meals. Went to many lakes and caught fish. Neighbors that we chatted were very welcoming. Super neat place to stay. There were two things that the owner was going to address right away but they did not interfere with our stay at all and didn’t affect me wanting to return. Great for our dog and she LOVED the lake Brought our boat and used the dock but didn’t have luck on Miltona. Many smaller lakes within a 15 mile radius that we did have luck on. It was also windy while we were there and the smaller lakes offered better wind protection than Miltona. Would definitely go back with the kids next time.

Easter Weekend Get-a-way
Derek was a great host who was quick to answer questions. Being a handicap accessible property was great. Overall this is a great spot to gather with family and/or friends. I would definitely recommend this rental.

Bachelorette Party
We had a great stay at Copper Lodge! The space at the lodge was perfect for hosting many girls during the day and had plenty of sleeping space for those that wanted to stay. The lodge provided extra tables and chairs that worked perfect for food set up. We really enjoyed sitting around the fire and loved how the lodge was close to carlos creek and leef valley! perfect place for a girls weekend!

Great place for a fishing team
Six bass club fishermen stayed for a week for the state tournament at Le Homme Dieu. This was a perfect place for our group of guys and not far from the lake we were fishing. Lots of room and good parking for three boats. Will definitely stay again here next time!

The rental property was ok, however we couldn't sleep in the loft, the ceiling was was way to low!! Also window coverings would have great!! The garage light came on in the middle of the night, which was disturbing, due to the fact the we had to sleep in the main part.bedroom placement didn't work for us. Overall, we did have a good time!!

Family Vacation
We rented Copper Lodge for a week so our families could get together for a vacation. It was a really, really enjoyable stay! The shouse was very clean upon arrival, and stocked up with everything we needed. Throughout our stay, Derek was very friendly by checking in to see if we needed anything, if we were having fun, and gave us some great recommendations. The washer and dryer was a big plus and the black stone was amazing! (Pizza made on a black stone is really really good) My 5 year old LOVED the Sandy Beach. We went almost everyday we were there. My brothers dog also loved swimming in Lake Miltona! We had awesome bonfires, and the string of lights around the trees were a great touch to set the mood. If you’re looking for a fun filled, yet quiet stay with your family, then I’d definitely recommend Copper Lodge to you. Thanks again, Derek!

Surprise Birthday
We had a great time at Cooper Lodge! The hosts were great and the process was simple, both in and out. We brought our bait and docked it at the private dock our whole stay. We surprised my husband for his 40th and his parents, siblings and their families all came with their kids. Everyone was talking about booking next year again and making it an annual thing!
