"We came into town for opening weekend of deer season and need a convenient place to stay. We found this listing and reserved the home for the weekend. "There have been some changes since the property pictures were taken. For instance, we were pleasantly suprised to see a full size bunk bed, but no recliner or gas fire pit outside(which was no big deal at all just something we noticed) Property and Porta-potty were clean. I'm glad I packed like for when camping as there weren't paper towels, paper plates or trashbags available. Which we could have bought at Dollar General or wal-mart had I not brought them (so again, no big deal). We didn't...

"This is the perfect place for a girl’s trip or family getaway! The property is gorgeous with lots of room for outdoor activities. If the weather doesn’t permit, the house is spacious and filled with activities such as board games, instruments if your family or friends are musically inclined, books, and television. "Really top notch; clean, comfortable and spacious. Took 3 hikes, Washington State Park on the way in, Johnson Shut-Ins on day 2 and Taum Sauk mountain on day 3. Hikers note that trails in this area are mostly rugged. Nice to come home after each to a comfortable home!"

"Everything was perfect (except for the weather at check-in!). The location is wonderful, we loved the bathroom/showers and greenhouse where we could hang and eat and admire Benka's plants! (So many orchids!). Keith was an awesome host filling us in on everything - even the surrounding area. The walking paths are beautiful and serine. The additional 5 canine hosts were adorable and Mici I'm so sorry you didn't spend at least one night with us! I wish we would have been able to stay longer...

"Where do I even start? There was nothing that wasn’t amazingly cool or unique about this property or the people who run it. From the first night I wanted to write a detailed 5-star review- but now I worry that going too in-depth would spoil all the little things that are there waiting for the next guests to explore and discover. So I will just say this: If you have ever wanted to feel like you are actually inside of a feel-good, small-town hallmark movie- book this place. "

"Coming from Texas, we wanted to experience the changing leaves and the nature trails in the area but were pleasantly surprised when we found ourselves staying on a plot of civil war history. Our cabin was delightfully cozy, and the creek was a very nice place to sit near for our morning coffee. The views of the mountains from the front porch as the fog cleared were impeccable and we have already saved this spot in our list of places to visit again. "
