Whether you are looking for a beach vacation for the whole family or a romantic beach getaway, the experience is sure to be extraordinary. Tucked into the dunes, this large beachfront property and desirable location cannot be beat. Just a short walk away from several exciting adventures, be sure to take advantage of the nearby public amenities including miles of nature and hiking trails through the Indiana Dunes National Park, along with biking trails on various turf. Seasonal water sports will keep you busy for days, from boating, jet ski and kayak rentals, to fishing charters and sunset cruises. Shopping, Casinos, unique shops and restaurants galore are just done the road.

Entering the main level, the front sitting room greets you with space to soak up the sun, enjoy a friendly game with the family or just simply relax. You will notice the perfect mix of new beach dƩcor and the classic feel of this 1930s beachhouse house as original.

The fully stocked kitchen was designed to entertain, a chefā€™s paradise. Let the creativity in the kitchen expand to the farm style table in the adjacent dining room where your guests can gather together and swap stories over a home cooked meal. A place for generations to stay together, the main level features the sought after main level bedroom, complete with king bed plus, a full bath with walk in shower and detached tub to soak in which is spacious and bright. Appreciate the location as you gaze out the wall of windows in the living room, facing the lake with a breathtaking uninterrupted view.

Up a short flight of stairs leads you to the ultimate look-out room. This cozy tower space is perfect for looking out over the lake and enjoying the sounds of the beach.

Venture down to the garden level where you will find 3 spacious bedrooms and a Ā¾ bath. First bedroom is one the kids will adore with 4 twin beds, the next bedroom offers a plush Queen bed, and the last bedroom is the largest of them all with a Queen bed and couch, a suite of sorts.

Pack your strollers, coolers and beach gear as you are next to the easiest beach access in the area, the boardwalk to Sheridan Beach cuts through the dune making the trip to the shore a breeze, even for those in wheelchairs!

Available for the summer months to rent with a 3 night minimum. 2 night minimum outside of peak season.

Please no smoking, no pets and absolutely no parties.

Great Stay!

Absolutely breathtaking views from this home, and just a short walk to the beach! Check-in was seamless, and communication with property management was quick and helpful. Iā€™d definitely stay here again. Donā€™t miss Cool Runnings for some amazing Jamaican food!

Beach house

Nice place on the beach with a long boardwalk down to the beach. We saw loads of wildlife; deer, squirrels, birds etc. the layout of the home was great for a get together with friends.

Beautiful views

We had a nice stay. The views from the living room and the tower room were amazing and the access to the beach was also nice. There is a little noise from the walkway down to the beach but not terrible and they have done a nice job of creating some privacy on that side of the house. The house didnā€™t feel as clean as we would have preferred. There were bugs everywhere, both dead and alive. I am not squeamish about bugs but one of my friends who traveled with us is and was so bothered by the bugs that she chose to move upstairs and sleep on the futon. I would stay again but I wouldnā€™t take anyone who doesnā€™t like bugs!

Wonderful Friend Reunion

This property was perfect for our old friends grade school reunion. The kitchen is nicely appointed and the large kitchen table made for nice group meals. We would have appreciated a functioning grill though. The location to the beach was great! No complaints about the beds/bedrooms. The home is very nice and we enjoyed our time there very much! Other than the lack of a functioning grill, a great stay!

Great house and location

On arrival, piled dirt to be swept up, stained comforter became clean when we washed, 2 overflowing recycle bins never emptied even when requested. No written information. We thought garage was locked and inquired about grill and beach chairs, umbrella and wagon. Told us grill in unlocked garage and to rent beach equipment. Beach equipment was in the garage. Hot water heater broke no hot showers for 24 hrs. No information to us from Beach walk. I had to keep calling to get information. We didnā€™t how long it was going to take to fix, alternate shower facilities and a call when it was working I have rented houses for 2 - 20 days. I have never heard of a ā€œstarter kitā€ of toilet paper. At least give renters this information on day one. House was a perfect location and met the needs and comfort of our family. This was a vacation with way too many unnecessary bumps in the road.

Lake Michigan beach house rental in Mich City, In

The beach house was great, the weather was perfect , and the beach was beautiful. The house provided everything needed plus extra beach chairs and a beach wagon. The wood/railed walkway to the beach was great and only wish it could have been a little longer . The perfect beach experience.

Family Getaway 2023

It was a getaway before school started with my family and grandchildren!!! The home was large enough for the ten of us. The beach access was great. Even though the boardwalk was the public avenue alongside of the home, it wasnā€™t bothersome at all. The only disappointment was finding out that sheets were a bit sandy. Of course didnā€™t realize that til late when everyone was getting ready for bed so couldnā€™t get sheets changed. Too late to call. Next day called and taken care of with apologies. It didnā€™t hinder our stay whatsoever! With a Beach House expect sandy conditionsšŸ™ƒ

Cozy Girls Getaway

We loved the large, open room on the main level for gathering and thoroughly enjoyed the wood-burning fireplace. Access to the boardwalk next to the house made it very easy to get down to the beach. Location of the house allowed us to walk to Washington Park and the lighthouse.

Very nice house, plenty of room for 5 of us. Kitchen well stocked. Plenty of plates, glasses and silverware. Could use pots and pans upgrade. Also no serving utensils like tongs, large serving spoons. This is a very minor concern. Very convenient to have boardwalk to beach right next to house. Beach is great, good for rock hunting. . Beds are good, plenty of towels. Listing needs to identify that there is a gas grill that works, there are beach chairs and there is a wagon. Went markets, dunes national park ( that beach was very crowded), ate at Bartlett fish camp which was very very good. Overall great house and location.

A great beach getaway!

This is a GREAT house! Our party included extended family, and we all fit comfortably in the house. Garden level has 3 bedrooms (queen + twin, queen, and 4 twins) and a bathroom + laundry. Ground level has another full bathroom and a king bedroom, and the kitchen, living room, dining room, front room. Then there is a staircase up to what we called the "crow's nest," which had a futon and was where my son loved to look out at the seagulls and lake, and our 20-something cousin slept (know that it's warmer up there, so anyone sleeping up top needs to be ok with that). The house was super well equipped with everything we needed, including a 2nd fridge downstairs. There were even games and books, which was awesome! Sitting in the living area, you could take in the beautiful views, and quite a few deer came and visited. We grilled out a couple of times and it was so convenient. Property manager was so helpful with sending a parking diagram so that we didn't block neighbors! Additionally, we noticed a couple of nails sticking up out of the floorboards on the stairs, and they sent someone out right away to fix them so no one would hurt their feet. The boardwalk to the beach was really convenient and lovely. I will say, if you have anyone in your party with mobility issues, getting TO the beach is super easy, but the hill up the dune to the boardwalk is a bit of a doozy - but we all managed, even the older folks in our party. The outdoor shower was great for spraying off after the beach! The ONLY reason I knocked a star off on cleanliness was that we saw quite a few spiders and "roly poly" bugs in the house - but honestly it seems like that is just the nature of being where we were, and it was only on the garden level. While we were there, the Orkin guy came and sprayed (not at our request), so clearly the property manager is on top of it and trying to lessen the bugs' presence! A great location - short drive to a lot of shopping, walkable to the Washington Park Zoo (which is a great zoo), and of course the beach itself is the main feature and that's right outside your door. If you're ok with smooshing a spider or 2, this house is PERFECTION! We had a great time.

We had a great time. The boardwalk was right next to us and we didnā€™t mind the businesses but did love the convenience. Kitchen was great! So easy for multiple cooks and prep spaces (cheese grater and juicer would be good additions).

Not as advertised

I wrote a lengthy review of this place but the VRBO site puts a limit on what you can say. So, here are the lowlights: Non-working WiFi and Roku television for the first 4 days of a one week trip. No instructions on how to use the Roku. No streaming services unless you already have your own accounts. Clusters of dead bugs in the filthy basement and piles of dirt under the carpet. Seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Gourmet kitchen is far from it, lacked basic utensils, corkscrew, cooking tools, cutting board, etc. Scant supplies like extra garbage bags, toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, etc. Beachwalk boardwalk is noisy at night. The hosts, Beachwalk, were not very helpful with our issues and blamed a non-existent AT&T power outage. Contacting the owner is not an option. The non-existent power outage was blamed for our TV and wifi issues; took 5 minutes for the AT&T guy to resolve it once he showed up mid week. But even then, the TV didn't work correctly, shutting off on its own, volume going up and down, only one channel available. I feel we are owed a partial refund. Very disappointed. I don't enjoy writing bad reviews and never have until now. But I can't recommend this place. -Kathy O

Great Trip and Beautiful Home

Amazing property with lovely views. Our trip was a brief getaway with adult siblings, but this would be great house for any group. Amazing location, our walks on the beach (even in winter) were great. Perfect stay.

Lakefront Home with Fantastic View

We stayed at this property over New Year's Eve weekend. It was extremely clean and very well appointed. I wanted a place on Lake Michigan with a view and a fireplace, and it delivered. We did have to provide our own firewood, which was fine. Check in is at 4:00, which is a bit ridiculous in winter since the day is over by then, and especially since neighboring towns in MI are on EST. That said, I screwed up the timeframe for my dinner resv and the management company that runs the rental was helpful arranging check-in. I am not the biggest fan of management rental companies, but they were available and very responsive. There was a giant storm that was supposed to move through New Years Day into the next and while I was under the assumption that management would clear us out if we were snowed in, we were given a shovel and bucket of salt to clear the large, inclined driveway. Thankfully it didn't hit as hard as we were warned, but I do want to mention that we are in our early 60s, and though pretty fit, I couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if we were disabled or it snowed worse than it did. But all's well that ends well. The home was large and lovely. The living room is especially nice and being able to have a crackling fire during the snow, was great. We did have to empty the dishwasher at check-in, but that was the only hiccup there. The walkway to the beach runs right along the house. It was very convenient but I can see why people mention it during the summer months; even in winter, there was a lot of foot traffic. Overall, I give this place 5 stars for a winter visit, as long as the snowstorms stay away.
