Before the owner comments that we did not attempt to work this out before we left this review, just know we did. The last time I made contact with the owner was on June 10, 2022 and they stated they would get back with me on our refund. We communicated constantly from our first night stay. We brought up the fact that there were several issues with the room and it was to the point where the owner did promise to reimburse us for one night stay (which never happened after all). The location is great. The building itself is nice and it has a pool with beach access. BUT, the actual room itself is tiny, cluttered and filled with items leftover from other people who have stayed there (toiletries, food items, etc). It felt like I was staying at someone's cluttered apartment for the weekend. If you are a tall or a plus size person, this room is definitely not for you. The toilet sits in a corner (literally) and when you sit down your legs are cramped up against the tub. No room to move at all. The room was barely clean at best, and when we brought it up, the owner offered to send cleaning staff back in. The window coverings were torn which lead to a privacy issue. Linens were stained and we only stayed the first night and then checked ourselves into a lovely hotel on the beach. Hotels are the way to go because you just never know what/who you are going to deal with. We feel we got scammed. I would really think twice about booking with this person. It is a disappointment because I feel like at least they were committed to making it right with us, but in the end, they did not.
