Check in went smoothly. Inn keeper suggested the restaurant on site, and we decided to eat there after putting luggage in the room. The room has no dead bolt or slide lock, only the door knob lock.
We went to the restaurant where our order was delivered to the wrong table. It sat there for 2 minutes until the waitress took it to the kitchen and apologized for the mistake. After approximately 10 more minutes our orders were brought to our table, but they were the same plates that had been taken to the kitchen 10 minutes before. They were cold and soggy as they had at this point been made 20 minutes prior and delivered to 2 tables. We did not eat there and told the waitress that we would dine elsewhere. After returning from the only other open restaurant in town. We found our TV would not come on. I went to call the front desk and the phone is not attached to the wall. I tried to call on my cell, and no one ever answered the desk phone. Ever. If you can possibly stay somewhere else, please do. Restaurant aside, the door did not feel safe. (You couldn’t even do the old chair under the doorknob trick, because it was too short. Couldn’t watch the news or use the room phone. Couldn’t contact the desk on my personal phone. Although the room was not expensive, we could have stayed at a Double Tree for less, and someone would be at the desk.
