Log Cabin in a higher end subdivision located on one acre 4 bedrooms can accommodate 10 guests. The house is full amenities: Steam Room, Hot Tub, Pool Table, Shuffleboard and hgtv type backyard including fire pit, 3 gas grills, outdoor fireplace, two gas fire pits, trampoline and optional zip line experience!

Maintenance & Care Required
The location was beautiful, however, maintenance and care to the property are missing. For one, near half the lights did not work either indoors or outdoors, difficulty using the TV's as there were to many remotes and no real instructions on sound, it was pretty filthy. I had to do a lot of the cleaning myself upon arrival.The grills were gross and needed to be cared for before use. The outdoors were lovely, however, they were pretty unkept to enjoy. For instance, the trampoline was filled with leaves and debris and critters that the kids did not want to use it. The outdoor sitting/table down in the yard, was filthy, we had no cleaning supplies to clean it ourselves, so we did not use it cause we could not use it. The Hot Tub was nice, but at day break we noticed the water was in need of being changed as well as lots of debris floating in it. There was not much we could do about it. In the indoors, handles were broken, spider webs every where as well as bath faucet handles coming off. It could be such a unique place and a fun weekend stay for anyone, only if more care was put in to the property. I use VRBO for a lot of my vacations, Im very specific that if Im going to spend a great deal of money for a weekend, I expect it to be clean and well cared for, making my stay comfortable. Especially since we pay a high cleaning fee at booking. No one cleaned this place. At least not professionally. If there was a cleaning lady, they should be fired immediately.

Wonderful stay at the coolest log cabin
We had an absolute blast during our stay here. The best place for a bachelor party getaway, a total and complete man cave in every way possible. We loved it and Larry was such an amazing host. He was very helpful and we can't wait to come back. We decided we are going to make this stay a yearly man trip with the guys.

Disappointed!
Log house with character and many amenities, but a very dirty house with lots of dust, spider webs, and rodent traps throughout. Mattresses in 2nd and 3rd bedroom are shot, there was what looked like mold around kitchen sink, rust stains in master bath tub. Our daughter found an old box of half eaten dominos sausages and dried sauce under her bed and there was pieces of trash behind furniture in two bedrooms. The blades on the ceiling fans were covered in dust also. Coffee maker had old, stinky liquid in it and old, hard coffee grounds in the filter. The “office” on main floor was unusable due to owner’s clutter all over. We took over 25 photos and two videos of all of this to document. We should have taken closer consideration of two reviews earlier in the year where similar comments were made. The whole place could be charming if the owner would have hired a professional cleaning company to come in beforehand. Will not return to this property!!!

AMAZING STAY!
Our group had an amazing stay at the cabin over the holiday weekend. The cabin is equipped with everything you could need and has so many great amenities. It also has great décor and feels like you are really getting away in a lodge in the woods. We spent most of our trip at the cabin and there was still a lot we didn't get to do! The house was also conveniently located to the chain of lakes and the surrounding area felt very safe. The owner is very responsive and incredibly helpful and kind. He provides a video and brochure to provide all the details about the property beforehand. Our group all wished we could have stayed longer. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you for having us, Larry!

Great place to relax!
This home has all of the bells and whistles that you could possibly want and more! It has a hot tub, Jacuzzi tub, steamer shower, and a heated toilet with a bidet (which I have no knowledge of how to use, but watching the video is definitely helpful). There is a basement full of things to do and watch for the all of the movie buffs and gamers in your family. If you feel like venturing out, everything is close by in McHenry. In addition, the Volo Museum, the Chain O’ Lakes, Fish Lake Beach, and Six Flags are all fun options that are close by. But, if you aren’t feeling up to the challenge of going out and want to stay in, use the beautifully landscaped yard with multiple grills, fire pits with ample outdoor seating, a trampoline, and a peaceful koi pond. You cannot go wrong staying here because there is truly something here for everyone.

Awesome get away stay at the lodge
Had a great time hanging out at the lodge and visiting Fox Lake. The lodge had everything we needed, and was decked out in activities for the team. The owner cares a lot about his place and was passionate to share it with us. Would definitely come back. Thanks for hosting us Larry!

Bad experience
Larry seemed nice and very casual at first. However, after having a good weekend and following the check out rules that he explicitly texted me, we received a text over a week later indicating that we didn’t follow his house rules and that we owe $200 additional dollars. He said he’s “cutting us a deal” because it’s actually $500 that we owe. I have screenshots of his check out instructions via text that we followed, and he is trying to extort us for half a thousand dollars.

Awesome Bachelor Party
If you are looking for a weekend stay somewhere without having to leave the house, this place checks all the boxes!!! There is an activity every way you look from Hot tubbing, Movie watching, Grilling, Zip Lining, and much much more. The property owner was friendly and attentive, very easy to work with. I would definitely stay again if I was in the area!!!

Peace and quiet outside the city was a great place for family members to gather and visit. Our band of seniors was able to sit in unique lodge setting to reminisce. Our host was readily available to answer any questions we had about property.

Great cabin with lots of luxuries
The house is beautiful and has a rustic feel for those that want to feel like they are going camping without actually sleeping in the woods :) The house and linens were clean and there were plenty of towels, which was really convenient. The house is on well water so there is reverse osmosis water available at the sink, which is really nice.

Northern Illinois Gem
After reading some of the reviews, I was slightly hesitant. I needed a place to stay for my team for work and booked this Gem, 4 guys regardless of the reviews. Larry was prompt to responding and at No point was ever disappointed in staying here. My only wish, was that we could of Stayed much longer. This house was everything and more. From the standpoint of a team that travels every week, staying in some rough spots and rough towns this place was like staying at a 5 star hotel. As mentioned Larry the host, was quick to respond and offered great places to eat, but once settling in, the team had no desire to leave outside the house. The hot tub was a huge hit, and provided the relaxation after a long day. The bedding down to the towels were all clean and ready for an incredible stay. If after reading any review, I suggest you message Larry as you find he is a perfect host. Thank you agian, We will be back in the summer for Certain!

Place was fully equipped with nessesary appliances . Unfortunately the Place was not cleaned professionally, Comforter and sheets not fresh,water was all rusty throughout, toilets was not all functioning. On the good side, hot tub was great..

Water Problem
Property not well-cleanned, dusty, under garments and personal items in bedroom. The water very ugly smell, yellowish color, unsafe to use. Property manager always checking cameras, a feeling of always been watched. Very nice place, but would not rent again!
