"Easy to find on the main road. Hosts daughter who checked me in and showed me around was very friendly. Although travelling solo, I had booked their largest room with kitchenette and it was great. Spacious, very clean, had a small balcony along one side but you could leave your room and sit on the huge upstairs balcony with comfy chairs too. Bathroom was very clean, hot water on demand and the shower was lovely with good pressure. A fridge in the room together with kettle, coffee percolator and...

"Lovely small hotel. Can walk into town. Pool lovely. Beach can walk to nearby otherwise tuk tuk. Excellant staff. "

"Srimali's Residence has plenty of potential but it's the small things the owners need to look at. On the positive side, the rooms are big, as are the bathrooms, the location is fine, ten minutes walk to the beach and a couple of minutes to the bus stop into Galle, pleasant surroundings with the occasional monkey sighting and plenty of stripy squirrels. "Overall, this hotel is very average. There were a few positive and negatives. I’ll start with the positives. After asking for water and toiletries, they were eventually provided. They let me shower after checkout and stored my bag, which was nice! The room is very average, but there was a gap above the door that didn’t shut all the way which let bugs in at night. "We stayed at the Spice House for 5 days as part of a 3 week tour of Sri Lanka. Its well placed for easy walking to local restaurants, beaches and sights and the owner was able to arrange transport and guides to further afield locations.Breakfast was always more than ample and very tasty. Set well back from the road its very quiet."
