⸻ 1-Star Review for Poplar Treehouse – Hosted by Kim BellofattoI booked this property for an extended 33-night stay for peace, healing, and privacy — traveling with my documented emotional support animals, which were fully disclosed and discussed with the host in advance.While the treehouse itself was visually lovely, the hosting experience was deeply disappointing and ultimately distressing.From the start, I took every step to be a respectful guest:• I rolled up rugs and covered all furniture with my own protective linens.• I hired mid-stay cleaners at Kim’s request.• I purchased full VRBO Accidental Damage Protection in advance.Despite this, I was later accused of causing damage to a rug that was never even used. No photos, receipts, or evidence were provided — just an unexpected charge request well after my stay ended. It was unsubstantiated and bypassed VRBO’s official claim process.The most upsetting part came at the end of my stay, when the host misread my departure date and confronted me early. I was treated with suspicion, not hospitality — and that interaction left me shaken. I had been clear that I live with PTSD and booked this stay to recover in peace. That peace was broken.Kim and her husband may not be suited to hosting guests, especially those seeking emotional restoration or traveling with support animals. There was no warmth or understanding — only cold detachment and an apparent effort to extract fees after the fact.I would not recommend
