Solmar Apartments comprises a two 2 bedroom apartment designed to accommodate up to 4 adults / children with a spectacular view over Marsascala’s characteristic fishing port and the open sea beyond.

Centrally located and set just back from the harbour front on a quiet non-thoroughfare street, the apartment offers calm and will allow you to enjoy Marsascala’s seaside location and its traditional relaxed social life-style making for a fascinating holiday for the whole family.

The apartment is just a 5 minute walk from the Marsaskala bus terminus from where you can reach all corners of Malta and Gozo in comfort and low cost without having to worry about driving or parking. We can organise rapid and efficient transfer from the airport to the apartment with immediate check in, obtain 7 day bus pass tickets for you. We can also organise bespoke private guided visits should you so require.

A butcher, baker, mini supermarkets, local fishermen (for the early riser) and fresh vegetable stalls are all within a stone’s throw, meaning that a car is not needed for everyday necessities.

The apartment is modernly furnished and has been finished to a high standard combining simple elegance and practical functionality that includes efficient and silent invertor technology AC units in each room that can also be used for heating in the colder months.

It is extremely light and airy and comprises an open plan kitchen / dining / sitting room area, two bedrooms and two bathrooms equipped with generously dimensioned showers (the main bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom). The beds in each bedroom can be arranged as either a large king-sized double bed or separate 90 cm x 2 meter twin beds. The apartment’s master bedroom is large enough to add an extra child’s bed or cot if required. The orthopaedic mattresses are comfortable and duvets, bed linen and towels are all supplied. A hair dryer is also provided in each apartment.

The kitchen has been thought out so that it will be a pleasure should you prefer to stay in and dine al-fresco on the terrace admiring the evening view over the harbour. The all-electric kitchen is equipped with oven, microwave, induction hob, hood, toaster and kettle and of course a dishwasher to make you feel at home. In addition, each apartment has a clothes washing machine, clothes drying racks, iron and ironing board.

There is free internet / WiFi as well as an Android box in each apartment so that you can pick up many of your favourite channels. If you have subscriptions to streaming channels such as Amazon Prime or Netflix, please bring your User ID and Passwords with you so you can log on via the Android box.

A children’s play park with an impressive range of activities for various ages can be reached within 10 minutes on foot.

A number of water sports such as scuba diving, sailing, fishing are all to be found in the region.

For those interested in history, Valletta, the 3 Cities and the megalithic temples of Tarxien are all within 10 – 20 minutes by car.

A very pleasant and wide promenade running along the waterfront around the bay with its numerous restaurants and bars is particularly agreeable for an evening stroll. Along the way you will come across designated cordoned-off bathing areas with direct access to the sea from the flat rocks via short ladders. The water is crystal clear and its temperature is most welcoming from late Spring through to late Autumn. Nearby, St Thomas’ Bay with its sandy beach can be reached by a 5 minute bus ride.

The one thing you will be short of is time to sample everything on offer.

The airport is less than 20 minutes away by taxi and the hosts will happily organise an airport pick up or car hire upon request.

Although the apartment block does not have its own parking, being on a quiet and non-thoroughfare street means that it is usually fairly easy to find a place to park close to the apartment.

It should be noted that the apartment being on the 2nd floor without a lift is not suitable for persons with reduced mobility. This being said, the stairways are wide and very easy to climb.

To avoid misunderstandings, please note the following:
a) Included in the nightly rental is 10kWh of electricity/day, which is more than adequate for average usage. For extra consumption, a coin meter is provided in the apartment set at €1 buys an extra 4 kWh of electricity. Please note that during periods of extreme Summer heat, you may need to add a couple of Euros per day extra to fully cover AC consumption.
b) There is a stay tax imposed by the Maltese Tourist Authority of €0.50/guest/night. This applies to persons of 18 years and older and is capped at €5/person per stay in Malta. This tax will be collected upon check-in at the apartment.

Check in and check out policy

• Normal check in times are 16:00 to 22:00
• Normal check out times are 08h00 – 10h00

Where the booking schedule allows, we will try and accommodate you for late check outs and early check ins.

For check outs after 12h00 it will be necessary to reserve an extra night’s accommodation where availability permits

For check ins outside of normal times, when it is possible, we need to ask for a participation to the extra cost incurred as follows:
• 22h00 - 24h00 late check in fee of €30 which includes airport transfer
• 24h00 - 08h00 night time check in and check out fee of €50 which includes airport transfer

Fees are payable in cash to the person checking you in / out.

We speak English, French, Italian and (some) German. It will be a pleasure to welcome you for a memorable holiday in our apartment.

The view from the balcony is beautiful. Quite area. Easy access to food stores and restaurants. Bus terminal very close. There are 5 flights of stairs so not for those with limited mobility.

We spent the winter in this lovely apartment. The view is spectacular. The apartment is well equipped, clean, quiet and convenient. There were lots of things to see and do locally, and the buses and Bolt service to the rest of Malta were easy to navigate. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for 4 weeks. This is my second visit. The flat is in a good location close to restaurants and bars with the main bus stop within a few minutes walk. Excellent base to see the island especially the south. If you have a car there is street parking but this could be busy. Oh and the best is the view from the balcony

We found this apartment to be pretty much as advertised. For the most part it was clean & tidy & modern although a few elements in the bathrooms left a bit to be desired. The waste bins were rimed with dust & the underside of the non slip mats in the showers looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a while. To be honest the bathrooms were a bit tired & could do with updating. The rest of the apartment was lovely. It was well equipped with an outstanding view over the harbour. This is not a particularly touristy area, lots more locals which we really liked. Altogether we would recommend this apartment. in a while.

Das Gute vornweg: Die Wohnung ist geräumig und gut möbliert. Es gibt auch genug Geschirr. Das erste Mal in den letzten 25 Jahren hatte ich im Urlaub Betten, in denen ich besser gelegen habe, als in meinem Eigenen. Toll! Das Mittelgute: Wie sicher auch bei anderen Wohnungen ist Malta in den Städten nicht gerade leise, außer ein paar Stunden mitten in der Nacht. Daher war Schlafen nur bei geschlossenem Fenster möglich. Und ein paar kleine(!) Abstriche hinsichtlich der baulichen Zustände muss man in manchen Ländern einfach hinnehmen. Aber es gab nichts, was den Urlaub dort geschmälert hätte. Essenz: Wir würden diese Ferienwohnung auch wieder nehmen, wenn wir wieder dorthin reisen würden. Das einzige Manko, war beim Ankommen, dass die Wohnung sehr verstaubt war. Ja, Malta hat Trockenheit, Wind und Staub. Daher reicht es nicht, die Wohnung beim Verlassen der letzten Gäste zu säubern, wenn sie längere Zeit leer steht. Dank ständig offener Belüftungen in den Räumen - haben wir auch in anderen Häuser gesehen, dringt nun mal Staub ein. Als Gast sollte man nicht erst die Wohnung einmal durchwischen müssen.

Just spent a lovely week in Marsaskala at Alda and Peters apartment. Great location away from the busier towns which was what we were looking for but still easily accessible by bus to all the islands sights. Good restaurants within walking distance and the vista from the balcony is as good as it gets. Big thank you as well to Cynthia who picked us up from the airport arranged bus passes and gave us helpful information.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren, komfortablen Aufenthalt in diesem geräumigen Appartement mit einem fantastischen Blick über Hafen und Bucht. Das Appartement ist modern eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man im Urlaub gebrauchen kann bis hin zum Bügeleisen. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin lief hervorragend und Cynthia hat sich vor Ort toll um uns gekümmert und hilfreiche Tipps gegeben. Alles war bestens!

Unser Aufenthalt war super. Check in und Kommunikation zwischen uns, der Agentur und den Eigentümern war perfekt. Die Lage der Wohnung ist super zentral, man gelangt von dort aus überall hin. L'appuntamento nel centro di Marsascala ha tutti i confort. I negozi sono vicini, così come il capolinea degli autobus per girare l'isola. A poca distanza dalla baia di StThomas (per famiglie). Il terrazzo è la punta di diamante. Abbiamo avuto un problema con il condizionatore e, nonostante sia capitato di domenica, si sono immediatamente attivati per portarci un condizionatore portatile in attesa dell'intervento del tecnico. Assolutamente consigliato!

Vorab möchte ich mich beim Eigentümer für die im Voraus perfekte Kommunikation bedanken. Schön zu sehen, dass Kunden einem noch so wichtig sind. Die Wohnung ist perfekt gelegen und mit allem ausgestatteten was benötigt wird. Den Blick vom Balkon werde ich nicht bewerten...da fehlen einem die Worte. Fazit: Immer gerne wieder!!! 10/10

Wir hatten eine tolle Woche auf Malta und dazu hat unsere Unterkunft bei Alda und Peter maßgeblich beigetragen. Vom ersten Moment der Buchung an, ein sehr freundlicher, hilfsbereiter Kontakt :-) Das Apartment lässt keine Wünsche übrig, ein fantastischer Ausblick auf den Hafen, toll ausgestattet mit allem was man braucht, gute Betten, zwei Bäder und sehr geräumig. Die Lage ist super, sehr ruhig und man kommt mit dem Auto überall schnell hin. Danke für den tollen Aufenthalt und liebe Grüße von uns :-)

We were very impressed with the apartment's location, it was a short distance from the bay, shops and restaurants and bus terminal. The view from the lounge was uplifting, a clear view of the whole bay. We were visiting Maltese friends and the apartment could not have been closer to them so that was a real bonus. We found the bed exceptionally comfortable however, we did not find the sofa comfortable at all. We were not aware until the holiday was almost over that the actual seat cushions could be manually pulled forward to provide a leg rest. Sadly, when the seat was pulled forward, the sofa became very difficult to sit back on unless you shuffled back and for us, it only helped to make the sofa slightly more comfortable. We spoke to Cynthia and Alda about this, they responded immediately and stated that they had not received any other complaints, so maybe it was just us.
