"Beautiful old hotel in superb grounds. My 3rd visit. It’s dog friendly which is essential for me. Staff very friendly especially Angela who made such a fuss of our boy. Its excellent position means a great spot for beautiful dog walks, literally across the road. However I must comment on the room. It was absolutely boiling hot in there, totally unacceptable and uncomfortable, we were given a fan which helped a bit. One of the lights on the wall wasn’t working which made the room very dark. The hotel itself is a rabbit warren - lots of small staircases. It is an old building but ideally would be refurbished. Breakfast very good and staff lovely. Would stay again, but it does just need a bit of love."
