"This is a great house, with tons of space. Ample indoor dining and living space was augmented by a pleasant yard. Easy to find, within walking distance of a grocery and coffee stand, across from the famed Red Shoe, this was also a good homebase for visits to west coast beaches (and sunsets) the national park and other island attractions. Host is kind and friendly, as were the neighbors. All in all - a wonderful experience. I hope we can return some day."

"Our first time exploring Cape Breton and we made this our base for a few days. We were expecting it be rustic and it sure was - a real old-style beach cabin. The plumbing had a few issues but it delivered hot water no problem. The kitchen is the front entry so a bit crowded. Still, we had a great stay. "Centrally located, my stay at The Lookout allowed me to attend three outstanding Celtic Colours concerts in Judique, Cheticamp and Mabou. "What a great little cabin tucked away from it all! We thought we were WAY off the beaten path because of the way we arrived, only to find coming in from the other end of the road was a much closer trip into town. The place was spotless and we loved the privacy. View was outstanding and the private beach was such a treat. Had dinner at the Clove Hitch - delicious. Would highly recommend staying here to anyone traveling to this area. "

"The house was quite nice overall. A little disappointing that the woodstove didn't work, especially as the weather was cool and wet. The water is quite soft, but tastes good; and the water heater works fine. We spent a chilly first night as the baseboard heaters were set to 10C (50F), and the control buttons are really tiny and hard to notice. A heads up from the owner would have been helpful. "Property was as described . The house was very clean and we had everything we needed. Our host Barb was very responsive to our questions. Would highly recommend this place if you have a large group. We were 8 golfers and the 3 Cabot course’s are down the road and you are also close to the beach."
