Above The Rivers Edge Cabin #1

Our cabin is nestled between the beautiful Shenandoah River and the Massanutten Mountains. The Shenandoah National Park is only 20 minutes away and provides beautiful mountain/ valley scenery and amazing views that will give memories for a lifetime. The Shenandoah National Park also features many walking, hiking, and bicycle trails. The famous Luray Caverns is within a 10 mile drive and is ready to be explored by those that have yet to witness its natural beauty. There are many other attractions and amenities to experience in our quaint little town. The town is located just south of the property (approximately 7 miles). There you will experience locally owned businesses and some amazing restaurants. Our private river access is a perfect fit for canoeing, kayaking, fishing, or just someone looking for beautiful views. Want to beat the heat or cold? This property offers a rural setting with amazing views and is equipped with central air and heat for those rainy days. This cabin features a master bedroom with sliding glass doors that allows you access to the wrap around deck. The kitchen area has an open floor plan and includes an LP gas rock fireplace. The kitchen in the cabin does not include a stove top oven but does provide a convection oven.

Clean cabin
Cabin was clean. Close to river. Didn't have any WiFi so cell phones did not work at all. I didn't like not having access to calling out. Nice place. Prepare to haul everything up the stairs. Wish those stairs had better lighting at night, Granpa took a spill on the last few.

Beautiful Property
It’s a very authentic cabin, so you really get the river/mountain vibes. The view is incredible, we ate every single meal outside, just enjoying nature. Jessica is incredible, she was really helpful through the check in and check out process. The beds are very comfortable and there is a gigantic bed in the room downstairs. I will be back next year for sure!

Nice place
We really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Sitting in the river for a couple hours the second day was nice. The water was not too cold and on a hot day was just right. The only drawback for us was, there was no TV in the downstairs bedroom. So we used the loft bedroom and that’s a lot if stairs for us. Overall the stay was very good

Wow, just wow!!, when i tell you perfect i mean PERFECT!!… Everything was 10/10, it feels like home in another location🤭and the host (Mrs Jesica) is so simple and coordinated, My fiancée had to personally write the review on the notebook under the table cos he was very impress with the cabin, we are definitely booking this particular cabin again for sureeeee, Thank you❤️

Cozy Comforts and Fishing
My husband and I spent 5 relaxing days at this beautiful, well-kept, fully stocked cabin. Our goal was fishing, and the river did not disappoint. My 5 1/2 pound catfish was the highlight of the week! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are grateful to the hosts for opening their cabin to us.

Spring Break
Spring break at this cabin on the Shenandoah River did not disappoint! It was a peaceful and comfortable setting to enjoy nature on the river - also a good base camp from which to explore Luray and Front Royal. Despite rainy and somewhat cool weather we enjoyed watching all of the different birds - good thing I remembered binoculars, wish I had remembered my bird book! It was interesting to watch the changes to the river as the whole region received a lot of rain. It was really nice to sit in the hot tub on chilly evenings and listen to the river. We will definitely consider staying here again if we are looking for an escape to the mountains/river valley.

Cozy cabin nice location
Stayed with my husband and 9yo. We had a great time fishing, bird watching and making s’mores by the campfire. Recommend this cabin; also found it spacious for my family of 3. I’d love to come back in the warmer months to get in the river! The river water was beautiful. The cabin is well equipped, good layout and clean. The drive to town is easy. We enjoyed Gathering Grounds for breakfast in town and the caverns! Only thing I recommend is to bring towels and believe compact suv or crossover for the road down to the cabin is best; its a bit bumpy and part of the road is slightly steep. Not too bad, but not sure if cars will do well. Cell phone service is decent 1-2 bars for me on att. Overall the cabin is great and recommended!

Nice Getaway
We had a great time at Above the River's Edge Cabin. The location is quiet and perfect for relaxing. It's close enough to the park for day hikes and a great option if you're looking to stay near Shenandoah National Park. The cabin was clean and well taken care of.

Weekend getaway
This place was awesome. It was me and my boyfriends first vacation together and we were so happy to have spent it here at this cabin. Super clean and well organized/decorated. Felt very cozy! We would 100% recommend this place to anyone that is wanting to experience a cozy cabin feel and beautiful mountain scenery. I will say that the road to the cabin is very bumpy, so use an SUV if you can. We took my sedan and it was still safe to use, just would use a larger car to reduce the bumps next time. We will be back in the future for sure! Thank you to the host, Jessica! She was very responsive and helpful. :)

A much-needed respite
Our family of 4 had a wonderful time at the cabin! The proximity to the river let us reconnect with nature and each other before the start of school. The birds, fish, river, and stargazing were just what we needed. It was a cozy space for four of us - parents in the king bedroom, kids in the queen in the loft. More people than this would be a challenge but it worked well for us. Beds were very comfortable and everyone slept well. The location is top notch and Jessica was easy to communicate with. For reference, the canoe mentioned is shared with the sister property - not an issue at all for us, but something to keep in mind if you plan on using it a lot while the sister cabin is occupied. We can't wait to come back!

Relaxing Get Away
The property was very clean. Check in was easy. Great views of the river. We brought our own kayaks & tubes and went fishing every day. There was a little spot in the woods up the road from the house that we could walk to and put our kayaks & tube in and float down to the house. My only complaint is that the house is listed to sleep 5 and they only had 3 forks & 3 bowls in the house. We have 5 people in our family. I had to go to Walmart about 20 minutes away to buy plastic forks & bowls so we would have enough for each meal.
