Beautiful quiet area, though we didn't expect to have neighbors so close. The cabin has had a lot of work done and it is "rustic" nice. The bed is great, with a firm mattress. Main bedroom is a good size. The kitchen has beautiful countertop and cabinetry, that all seem very new. Problem with cabinets and drawers is they don't have knobs/pulls. But kitchen is convenient and well equiped. Bathroom spacious and has standard equipment. Comfortable. Chairs in living room are very old and uncomfortable, the host said he was expecting new chairs to be delivered. But that didn't happen when we were there. Biggest drawback is that there is no dining area. One evening we were able to eat outside because it didn't rain, but it was not comfortable at all to eat dinner in our lap inside the other evenings because it was raining. If it were my cabin, I would do away with the second bedroom and open it to make it a dining area. We didn't use the wodstove in the living room, but we used the electric one in the bedroom a couple of nights. The grounds are very pretty, we did enjoy all the birds visiting thanks to the many bird houses and humming bird feeders, and we got to see elk a couple of times. Overall we enjoyed our little getaway at the cabin in Luna, NM. Might even consider returning if there was a dining table/chairs, pulls and knobs on kitchen cabinetry and more comfortable armchairs. The place would then deserve 5 stars from us.
