This stunning property is a self contained wing of a Georgian Town House once owned by the Earls of Shrewsbury. It has been recently renovated and the house retains many of its original features. Equipped with a mix of antique and modern furniture the house has charm and comfort. On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, a large sitting room with piano, an oak panelled dining room with circular table, and a fully-equipped kitchen with slim dishwasher. On the first floor there are two formal and spacious bedrooms, one king and one twin, which share a bathroom (with shower). On the second floor, only accessed via a steep and narrow staircase (not suitable for the elderly), there is a ‘walk through’ twin room, and another double bedroom with an ensuite with a free standing bath.
The house is perfect for 6 guests, and although there are beds for 8 guests, it is a bit ‘tight’. The 4th bedroom (a twin) simply has a curtain between it and the stairs, so it is not completely private. See the photos! There are beautiful high ceilings and panelled rooms throughout, and you will be warm and cosy, with the use of two gas fires in addition to full central heating. Sumptuous bed linen and towels are provided in all rooms.
We have a good friend who is a cook, who is happy to cater for guests, either during the evening, or by leaving a prepared meal ready for you. Just heaven, if you are arriving late, or if you cannot get booked into one of Ludlow's fabulous restaurants. Details on request. You will have exclusive use of the whole house which consists of hall, kitchen, dining room, sitting room and 2 bedrooms and a shower room on the first floor. The 2nd floor has 2 additional bedrooms and a bathroom. There is an entrance hallway shared with one other property belonging to us, and it is a great place for wellies, coats, bikes etc.
To gain access to the double ensuite bedroom on the second floor you must go up the stairs THROUGH THE TWIN ROOM which can be curtained off - please see the photographs
