"Very good hotel and room excellent (could be better with in room fridge). Breakfast service though was very poor, disinterested staff and not a good attitude towards allergens - despite the venue saying GF options available (placing an iPad on the table and saying look at that - with just bacon and egg to choose from wasn’t great). "

"Pleasantly surprised, made to feel very welcome, lovely bar and reception area. Room was cleam, bright and spacious with a large bathroom. Delicious breakfast with cereal, juice, tea & coffee and a cooked breakfast. Only downside was unable to park at hotel but was easy to find somewhere around the corner. "

"I've stayed here on a number of occasions over the last decade and a bit. I've always found it to be friendly, with good beer and good food. My only reservations are that in colder months, the chalets can be a bit on the cool side despite having heaters. However, on this occasion, I was in one of the newer rooms and the bathroom was nice and warm in the morning and best of all contained a walk-in shower stall, far better than clambering over a bath tub! The pub itself has remained a decent...

"Two nights stay for a family reunion. AJ is an excellent host and goes out of his way to please. The food is very good. The rooms desperately need a refurbishment and it would be fair to say that the beds have seen some action. The hotel is about 200 yards from the sea front."

"Relatively basic hotel, next to Stroud station, check in was smooth and room was a little noisy due to proximity of station. Disappointing that the floor below us appeared to be smoking in the room as it permeated the hotel on our return, but overall the room did its job"

"Cheap stop over before an early Eurotunnel start. Large family room was ok if a little shabby, reception staff were lovely and welcoming. Not much noise considering how close you are to the motorway."

"Very cosy and warm, steep steps up to room and parking a few minutes walk away. A wonderful view to wake up to overlooking the river Medway. No breakfast inc and it’s not clear reading the other reviews, I think it’s overpriced without breakfast. We enjoyed our stay but I wouldn’t stay here again unfortunately. If you are a light sleeper noisy traffic in the background also. The host was friendly. "
