The Space:
Casalinho Macieira roughly translates as the little house with the apple tree. The name was inspired by the apple tree that greets you as you enter the property. The exterior is cozy with a lot of stone influence and blends between nature and the cottage itself, here you will find a great place to have early evening meals or morning brunches, while you soak up the sun and the crispy & fresh marine air which is influenced by both Sintra's hills and the Atlantic ocean. The cottage is equipped for 6 people, but it is inviting for any couple who wants to escape the city rush or a family who wants to connect with nature.

The first bedroom is found on the ground floor and it is spacious and bright, as it has 2 windows, a comfortable double bed, and a decor with rustic influence due to the terracotta floor tiles and dark wood furniture. As you continue on the ground floor, to your right by the entrance, you will find the spacious, bright, and modernly rustic fully equipped kitchen, you can't help but imagine yourself cooking up a soulful homemade meal, you will find an electric 4 plate electric hob, an electric oven, a toaster, kettle, coffee maker and all other basic cooking utensils; within the kitchen you will find the half bathroom and a connecting door into the living room. The living room is a cozy area where you will find dark wooden influences from the dining table to the mezzanine to the terracotta tiles; here you can enjoy dinners and lunches enjoy quiet time reading a book, or do a little work.
As you venture up to the top floor, you will find to your left the second bedroom, which has a double bed, 2 windows that allow a lot of natural light in, and the continuation of the dark wooden features. As you continue through the hallway you will find the full bathroom, which is elegantly refurbished with the main feature being the white and green pattern tiles, you have a bathtub with a shower over it, for nice relaxing baths after a day out of sightseeing. Finally, you have the last room which has a comfortable sofa-bed, the room has 2 windows too and it is ideal if you really want to have some quiet time, whilst looking out of the windows where you get a glimpse of the town, nature, and sea view.
Casalinho Macieira is the best choice if you want to combine nature, culture, and beach. This rustic and quirky cottage is waiting just for your visit, make it your home away from home.
The Neighborhood:
Casalinho Macieira is located in the unique and friendly town of Azoia. The property sits in the historic heart of the town, known for its micro-climate and traditional traits. Azoia boasts a variety of typical restaurants, coffee shops, and nearby bars with stunning sea views. Fresh bread is delivered daily near the cottage.
The town is a short 2km drive from Cabo da Roca, the most western point of Europe, immortalized by the poet Luis de Camões. Within a 20-minute drive, you can explore mysterious Sintra, charming Colares and Almoçageme, or head towards the beautiful coastlines of Cascais and Lisbon.
For grocery shopping, larger stores can be found in Sintra, Almoçageme, or Cascais.
The nearest beaches include:
Praia da Ursa (5 min drive)
Praia Grande, Praia Pequena, Praia das Maças, Praia da Adraga, Praia do Guincho (20 min drive).
Public transport is convenient, with Scotturb 403 bus service connecting Cascais to Sintra and passing through Azoia daily
Getting Around:
If you do not have a car, no need to worry as there is a bus service that connects Cascais to Sintra, and passes right in the center of Azoiá - Scotturb 403, which runs daily (Monday to Monday)

Our properties are self-catering, but we do make all beds up with linen and towels as well as provide basic amenities such as toilet rolls and soaps for a day or two.
If you would like to have additional sets of linen or need to hire baby or beach equipment, we have an array of amenities we can offer. Please ask us for more information. Alternatively, your guest area will also have these items once you have booked. We are also able to arrange airport transfers and day trips with baby seats if needed.
Check-in Times: We offer a meet and greet service until 20:00. Late check-in attracts a supplemental fee:

Tourist Tax:
Local municipalities have introduced a Tourist Tax, requiring hosts to collect from tourists staying in accommodations such as hotels, B&Bs, or vacation rentals. * Parties and loud music are strictly prohibited at any of our properties and actions may be taken should there be any complaints from the neighbours relating to excessive noise.
* Please note, the legal quiet times are between 23:00 to 07:00. Please limit noise (phone calls, TV, etc.)
* Additional guests are not allowed without the express permission of the management agency.
* Pets are not allowed at any of our properties regardless of size or behaviour as it is part of our agreement with our owners.
